I was up 1 lb from last Monday. I weighed in at 189. I’ll take it though…not too shabby. I do need to quit this maintaining business and start dropping.
I am so upset. Wow! I couldn’t believe it. Up 5. I am really not happy about this and I don’t really know what to say. Um………..Darn it! There, I feel better..Yeah right! I am up half of what I lost last year. My lowest was 160. I am up to 175. I really really really need to stop the cycle I am on. Its so frustrating! Well there you have it.
Maintaining (164.2)and happy. Hope you don’t mind if I still weigh in, I feel it keeps me accountable.
Christina this phase will pass just hang in there.
Nikki big hugs. don’t panic. God loves you. Just concentrate on eating healthily - you know your weaknesses. take it a day at a time.
169….AGAIN!!!! How depressing. I either need to step it up on the exercise or tone it down on the eating…or BOTH! I need to lose those 29 pounds!!!!

Up 2 and it is definitely a true reflection of my eating this past week. I have been eating too often when I’m not hungry…late-night desserts are a big weakness for me. I know this will be a better week!
I lost the 2 lbs of water I must have been holding on to last week. I am at 136…yesterday at 135, so it’s a little frustrating. We had an outdoor church service with a picnic after. I ate well and then went on a long hike up the mountain…so you’d think the number would have gone down not up. Oh well, it was a great day!
159.6 Down from where I was last week so I’ll take it.
I wish it was better. I go to the doctors on Wed. for a follow up on the weight gain from last year so we’ll see what they say. Say a prayer my blood sugar has returned to normal.

I’m down 3lbs this week. I weighed in at 188.
I didn’t have the best week but I did work out hard, so that probably helped quite a bit. Yeah!
169….I’m stuck…I did exercise all week (with the exception for one day) and I thought I had done some okay eating….will do better next week.
well, i weighed on Saturday morning and got 154.8 which would be the lowest yet but it doesn’t count.
Today.. 161!!! You guys were talking about pizza being the culprit, I do believe you’re right. We had pizza yesterday on the insistence of the kids and I’d say that’s the problem, well, and AF. Oh well.
Exercise has been great, eating better then usual but that’s up 3.something.

I forgot to weigh this morning because I actually woke up early for a training across town. So no sleeping in for me! (
BUT, I started Phase 1 again last Thursday. By Saturday I had lost over two pounds. I’ve stuck with it most days, but did have carbs Sat & Sun. Today has been better. At any rate, I’m not over eating nor and I eating things that are bad for me . . . except for the Mexican sweet bread I couldn’t resist . . . but I’ll do better this week!
Oh, and I’m exercising more, so that’s good, right? Hmm . . . and that reminds me I need to go do some push-ups . . .

Don’t panic Stephine. I’m sure you will be down next week. Our monthly cycles do mess things up don’t they but by keeping up the good eating and the exercise the general trend will be downwards. So no giving up.

Ok I am holding steady so am happy. Actually up half a pound soince last week but I tend to think that’s just the vagaries of the scales etc. its quite normal to vary up ad down from day to day. So final point don’t keep getting on the scales if you can avoid it. Once a week is fine. Hav e good week all. I finish my school term tomorrow so will have more time to exercise and comment I hope.
I’m down 3 pounds this week. I made some eating changes that I’ll blog about later.

I weighed in at 191…same as last week. I’ll take it since I had a bad weekend. I tried to make up for my weekend though…drove 8 hours on Saturday, baptized my nephew on Sunday and drove back 8 hours on Monday. Well, I should say I rode for 8 hours…my hubby drove. But after we got back yesterday…I headed to the gym for a spin class. Dedication baby…!!!
I’ll unofficially weight in (and a day late, too. sorry!). I’m the same, which is good considering I haven’t been dieting. But I’m starting over with Phase 1. Yippee!

Well hello my friends I have been avoiding for quite some time. Just thought I would pop over and weigh in. I have been bad but not really gaining too much. 170 is where I am now, and I want to lose at least 10 pounds this month. We are going on a mini vacation in August and I want to at least be at my lowest. So there you have it. I know what I need to do, now pray that I actually do it! Thanks gals! Oh, and I have missed you.
133-134. I was really bad Friday night - 4th of July and all. Back on the wagon this week. My mom and I are going to the Sister’s, OR quilt show this coming weekend. Yay.

Julie you are not going up so be encouraged.. Most of us would say we have plateaued at some stage so take heart and don’t panic. i recommend going back on the water it does help. chocolate is ok in small portions especially the dark stuff but you know what is ok for you.

Dear OWOA-ers, I have a question for you. I have been thinking about posting again but I’m not quite sure about it. My goal is kind of weird for this site: I need to gain 20 lbs. in the next 4 months or so — and then lose it again (along with the 8 lbs. or so that I’ve already gained) after my baby arrives in late December.
I’ve been thinking that on the one hand, it’s reasonable for me to post about trying to cook good food when I’m still nauseated, and satisfying carb cravings in a healthy way, and getting exercise when I’m (did I mention?) still queasy. But I don’t recall other OWOA-ers participating through pregnancy. Does anybody mind if I post about aiming for healthy weight gain while vanquishing the ice cream addiction?
On a totally unrelated topic, I am planning to make a chickpea pancake for dinner tonight. (I’ve been browsing through Mark Bittman’s vegetarian cookbook, which is full of fun stuff). Who’s got a guess as to how many of my boys will try it, and how many will say yuck?
I say…go ahead and post CJ! I think it will be interesting and we are here to encourage one another. When I was pregnant with my boys, I felt like I SHOULD have Dairy Queen once a week at the very least! This site would have been VERY helpful back then.
Oh and the chickpea pancake sounds a little yucky to me and I’m 32…Hope your boys are more willing to try new things than me!!

I was at 208.4, which is down from 213.4, so down 5.
I haven’t particularly been on phase one or anything, so I’m thinking it’s just my body settling down again with the meds I’m on. (shame it won’t settle down with regards to me sleeping, but that’s another story!)
I’m still 2.4 above my lowest weight so far, but it feels like there’s hope for next week’s weigh in
I’m at 191 today, that’s down 1.6 from last week’s weigh in. Still trying to get back down to my lowest of 189.5, so I’m almost there. Next week!
180. That means I’ve lost the 1 lb I put on last week, and am equal to 2 weeks ago.
197 today. I had pizza yesterday which puts on 4# automatically. Literally. It’ll be back down tomorrow BUT I’m back on phase 1 today however I will still munch on carrots over the next 2 weeks.

That’s the average for what i’ve been for the past month. I know it’s because of what I’m eating and what exercise i’m NOT getting.
I know why things are like they are and I know I need to curb it but I’m not having much success in that process. It’s just frustrating. I’m working on it.
Up 2 from last week…Same issue as Tami..THE PIZZA. It’s only the 2nd time I’ve had real Pizza in 9 months. I only had 2 small slices, but the damage was done

What is it with Pizza, is it the salt content? I don’t get it. I haven’t been eating pizza.
I an down 2 to 166.6 so basically holding steady. I seem to go up and down betwwen 164 and 169 but I think I am happy. To lose more I think I would have to up the exercise somewhat and of course that might put on muscle but I don’t think it would be sustainable. The good bit is I can still wear the clothes I bought a year ago. I am actually wearing size small in jumpers (albeit from a specialist tall person shop so probably not small in the average sense) but for someone who always started with extra large that is rather exciting.
My weekend was mainly spent fetching daughter HP back from uni in Exeter. I drove down Friday night arriving at Midnight. Packed Saturday morning and early pm, did some shopping and got home at 10.30 pm. I needed a nap Sunday afternoon but it was a good weekend.
Favourite foods. I love my standard packed lunch ( I eat it 2 or 3 times a week) of salad leaves, baby toms, radish, pepper(capsicum) strips, cucumber etc with feta type cheese and something meaty like turkey, ham or today salmon. Variations on a theme depending what is around. Add some olive oil and vinegar dressing and maybe a few pumpkin or sunflower seeds and it’s just perfect. Lots of chewing which keeps me satisfied all afternoon.
Favourite snack is humous with veg sticks (celery, carrot etc)
New recipes will have to wait till term is over in just over 3 weeks.

Weighing in at 173…..Weighed the same at the doctor’s office on Thursday, but on Tuesday of last week….I weighed 169.5 on the scale at my mother’s house….Today makes 1 week that I have been exercising consistently…IT’S A MIRACLE!
The whole wheat crust at Papa John’s is WONDERFUL!!! Very soft!!! Just don’t overload it with pepperoni, sausage, and ham….the veggie pizza is really gooooood!
Cheese pizza seems to do less damage for me than pizza with a lot of toppings. I think it must be the salt content.
135. Chips at a BBQ last night is what did that. I only had a few and didn’t feel like I really overate at all. But the fact that there is always fatty, salty foods at a BBQ doesn’t help. I was weighing a couple of pounds less than that in the middle of last week.
But… I don’t care right now ’cause it is FINALLY sunny in Washington. Woohoo! You should have see the red burns on white skin at the beach on Saturday. Eeeew! Not a pretty sight.
Oh dear. What is it with pizza? We’re planning a take-away pizza on Friday! (I can’t remember the last time… it’s a treat.) And why is salt a problem? Does drinking plenty of water flush it out? …Somebody… Please enlighten me.
Julie, drinking 2 gallons of water doesn’t seem to immediately flush it out…for me at least. After I have pizza…only a couple pieces mind you it takes a few days to get back down to where I was. I agree with Anita about the toppings though however even cheese pizza seems to do it to me…just not as bad. My suggestion would be that if you are planning on pizza then have your pizza if you must. If not having a piece will send you spiralling in the wrong direction then by all means have a piece with a big ole salad. IF HAVING PIZZA WILL SET YOU BACK AND MAKE YOU START CRAVING BAD FOR YOU STUFF ALL THE TIME THEN DON’T EVEN TAKE A BITE. Yep, talking from personal experience here.

Well I’m down about a pound and a half. Not for sure cause the scale gave me every even # between 222 and 223.4. But I’m down, so that’s a step in the right direction. And that’s even w/ me not being overly strict w/ myself, so that just shows ya how much junk i was eating!
oh, and i’m also weighing in two weeks in a row and that’s also an improvement for me!
Hi DebbieBoo! I was up at 5:30. Actually that’s late for me, I’m usually up at 4:30 but on Monday’s I work from home and I don’t work out until I drop my daughter off at school, so I get an extra hour.

On 6/12, I had my final weigh in for the biggest loser competition at the gym and I weighed in at 189.5. So I’m up 2lbs from that. I’ll be working on shedding that this week.
By the way, I came in at #6 out of 42 in the competition!

Thanks Debs..for posting my comment….I was up by 5:00 this morning to feed the baby, but alas…no scale….when I logged in this afternoon to see if my comment had been posted, I literally rushed over to my mother’s house to weigh myself, which to my dismay, was locked!! Soooooo…no weight, although I do feel pretty much the same…HEAVY! I am going to wait for my baby’s next feeding to go out and buy a scale (My goal for the day!!:))It’s right after his feedings when I feel the most comfortable going anywhere…At least I know he has been changed, fed, and burped….plus he usually falls asleep right after…which should make for a better shopping experience!
Still no change. Better then gain I guess. I just really need to get back on track. I’m doing better then I was but I’m waaaaay off from plan. idk. a new week and so far today i’m doing well.

I finally weighed myself…down 6 pounds since I was weighed at the doctor’s office 2 1/2 weeks ago….finally over a huge bump…was weighing 175-180 forever…finally down to 169.5. 30 pounds left!!!

It’s been a hard week. I’ve been struggling with depression, and wacky side effects from the drugs I’m taking. Today things are feeling a bit brigher. Life feels like it’s worth living, and although I’m tired, I did get 6 hours sleep last night, which is way more than I’ve had any of the last 4 nights. I’ll just keep plodding.
Oh, and report back on how the gym thing went…
Apparently, the rss feed is no longer working… Bloglines says June 4 was the last update. So… I switched to the atom feed.
Up again to 134. I suppose it’s due to bad snacking and lack of sleep. Must become more aware of what I am eating and how much I’m exercising!
Executive Decision…Since I did the post for the weigh in this week, I say I’m exempt from weighing in this week. Ha ha ha!
Remember, I was out of town Thursday-Sunday and I ate semi-bad. So, I’m afraid to weigh in and see the damage. I did work out Thursday before I left and I worked out at the hotel gym Friday and Saturday and I did my best with ordering healthy meals when we ate out but sometimes it’s wasn’t possible.
So, this week I’m back on plan and I’ll weigh in next week.
In the meantime, I did not win the Biggest Loser competition at the gym but I was happy with my results.
I weighed in at 189.5
Since March 4th…

-1.5″ left arm
-2.5″ right thigh
-3.5″ left thigh
-4.5″ chest
-5.75″ waist
-3.75″ hips

So, there you have it. I’m happy!

(And you have to listen to me, otherwise I might cry )
But you know, whatever! I didn’t weigh in last week. Just get back on track, and it’ll be ok.

And even if you don’t want to weigh in officially, I’d say it’s still worth stepping on the scales and privately noting down what the damage was. That way you can look back at it next week and see how well you’ve done.

Ok, I did go weigh and there was a lot of damage. I’m hoping that some of this is water retention due to high sodium foods.
Either way…I’m going to be strict with myself this week and I will reverse this damage…hopefully all this damage will be reversed by next Monday!

(Hey, i’m up 10 or 11 since my last official weigh-in two weeks ago. I’m currently blaming the meds I’m on, tied with some eating the wrong stuff). I’m just working on maintaining really, and breathing, and hopefully things’ll settle down and get better in time.

I’m proud of you for weighing in! I’m sure the meds have a part to play in the weight gain. I just read an article in a magazine on how big of a role some meds play with our weight. So I’m sure your body is going through some changes with the meds. Just get back on track with your eating and exercising and your body will eventually get it figured out and in sync.
With some of the wacky symptons (swelling, soreness etc) It’s either the meds, or I’m pregnant. And though I know immaculate conception worked for Mary, I’ve not convinced God’s about to do that one again

I’m calling my shot for next week:
I’ll lose at least 3 pounds or die trying. (Maybe not die trying, but this crap is getting old. I just need to limit my consumption. Especially my carb consumption. Plain and simple.)
So I didn’t just eat ice cream, even though I REALLY wanted to. That’s an improvement for me! AND I just finished swimming for an hour. Another improvement! And to top it all off, I’m finally weighing in again! Woo hoo!!!!
Of course all that doesn’t undo a month of eating crap.
So I’m at 224.2, which is about 9 up from my lowest, but not as high as I was a few weeks ago. Perhaps the increased exercise is helping a teeny tiny bit. Since school ended I feel a bit more energized, even though I’m still teaching summer school. So I’m a bit more motivated to stay on plan. I only had 2 good carbs today . . . plus a handful of tortilla chips. Oi! But at least it wasn’t the whole bag! And since the chips are gone, there shall be NO tortilla chips tomorrow!

A day left after my forgetfulness yesterday but actually not too bad at all. 165.8 down 1 since last week and holding steady below goal. I have been about 4 pounds higher during this week if you believe the scales so no call to be complacent. It is helpful to keep checking in.

I’m up 3. I know it’s fluid, but it is there. We ate out last night and even though I ate the right stuff…the salt content still gets me. I am going back to phase 1 this week anyway and adding more water. I never retained water like this before…so I’m not sure why I am now, but maybe drinking more water daily will help with retention.

166…FINALLY…3 down from last week!!! Prayer does work!! And I have to say, my will power is getting better. Took the boys for some ice cream yesterday and although I was tempted, resisted and had a glass of tea instead. I hope I can keep it up. I go back to work in a couple of weeks and I need to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes.

I’m down 1lb to 188. If it weren’t for all the snacking I did this weekend, I’d probably be down another 2lbs. I have to work on that snacking bit. Hmmm….

177.5 — down 2.5 for the week. So that takes care of the 2 I gained last week plus an extra half pound to boot. I’ll take it.

Sorry no scales - Debs has them. I am guessing she didn’t want to weigh in for some reason.
Will be good for me I think to be without scales for a few weeks. see if I can manage to maintain through holiday time
Yes we are all off to Wales on saturday for 2 weeks, that’s me, Debs, Bekki, HP and David(the daddy). I expect Debs will manage to tune in at some point via an internet cafe - she’s as addict.
