Healthy or Not? (Christina)

Ok, so I just saw this on QVC, Southwest Tilapia, and I want to know if it’s healthy.  I’m not much for seafood, but I know fish is good for you and some are healthy, so I thought I might try this.

The nutritional info is serving size 5.875 oz, 280 calories, 12g fat (5g saturated, 0 trans fat), 26g protein, 410mg sodium, 55mg cholesterol.

What do you think?

If you’d like to check them out, go to www.qvc.com and search for item# M15584.

  1. Hmm. It does look tasty. Kinda high in fat though and I’m not sure if it’s good fat. (salmon - for example is high in fat but it’s good fat) I also see 5g of saturated fat.

Still - only 280 cals if you only have one piece. Probably isn’t too bad for a dinner once in awhile. Assuming one piece will do it for ya. Two pieces plus sides and you’re getting too much.

  2. Kalyn’s kitchen has a couple of recipes for Tilipia. I’ve never seen it, but I don’t think we get them here (UK).

  3. We’ve got a few on here too. Just search Tilapia.

Diet detectives, get to work! (Brandi)

I am looking for a little bit of sleuthing. This month I have not really been losing and I have also been having a hard time not snacking a lot in the latter part of the day. Now, a couple of things you need to know are a) I took up running first thing in the morning for about 30 minutes. I run on average 6 out of 7 days per week. and b) although I am not losing, I know I must be gaining muscle with the running. However, I would like to lose a bit more fat than muscle gained if possible.
What I’d like to do is tell you what my typical day looks like and see if you have any recommendations for possible changes.
6:30- before breakfast I run about 30 minutes. This is the ONLY time I can fit it in and I LOVE the way it starts my day.
7:00-have a cup of tea with a bit of half and half
8:30-breakfast (can’t do it much earlier than this…just not hungry plus I have other things I need to do for hubby and kids and don’t have a chance until then to sit down to eat)
10:30-snack
1:00-lunch
3:00-snack
6:00-dinner **but between snack and dinner I am extremely munchy unless I work that afternoon. In that case I am ravenous when I get home around 7:00 for dinner and usually eat too much and then eat dessert (SB legal of course) to “perk up” because I am so tired.

So far I am planning to institute the following changes:

1) instead of a morning snack, eat lunch around 11:00 and have two snacks between lunch and dinner…around 2:30 and 5:00

2)really really try not to eat after dinner…if I must have a dessert make it really light like sugar-free hot chocolate

Any feedback? I am ready to lose again. I wish I could figure out the measuring thing and track my loss that way, but I just don’t know how to measure the same spots each time. I can come up with two different measurements in the same “measuring session!”

Thanks, friends!

  1. Aright. You asked.

    1. Fact - Eating Breakfast within an hour of getting up boosts your metabolism. I don’t care if you don’t want to. Do it anyway. Soy Sausages microwave in under a minute. A frozen Oat Muffin warms up in 40 seconds and can be eaten in the blink of an eye.

    2. Running is good. You can make it even better for your metabolism by doing interval training. You run as hard as you can for a minute or two, then slow down for two or three - lather, rinse, repeat. Also, are you doing any weight training?

The rest of it looks good to me!

    Comment by blestwithsons — July 4, 2007 @ 11:06 am

  2. Thanks, Blest. So if I eat the oat muffin when I get back from the run I will have it down in right at an hour after waking. I am trusting you on this cuz Body for Life guy says if you run on an empty stomach and wait a while to eat after, you will burn more fat.

Also, that would have to be an extra snack for me, I think, because as I said I am so munchy in the afternoons, I really think I need those 2 snacks between lunch and dinner.

Interval training….hmmmmm…very interesting. I may try that.

I work out my arms. Just triceps and biceps every other day. That’s it.

Thanks so much for the insight. I am realizing today that the shorts I am wearing feel looser than they have been feeling so I think it’s a good sign…I just want to see those numbers on the scales go down…I know I shouldn’t care about those so much but SOMEBODY makes us weigh in every week! ;-)

  3. See - there’s conflicting theories at work here. One school is all about how much fat you burn during your workout. The other is about the overall impact on your metabolism. You may burn a few more fat calories than Ido by not eating - but by eating, I have a metabolism that’s burning hotter all day. Know what I mean?

    Comment by blestwithsons — July 4, 2007 @ 11:56 am

  4. I see…does exercising get your metabolism going? I thought I had heard that somewhere. In the official Blest opinion, would eating it as soon as I got done running be good? That would be just about 1 hour after I wake up. I just really don’t want to eat before if I can avoid it.

    Comment by Brandi — July 4, 2007 @ 2:38 pm

  5. I’ve also found that eating more protein on the mornings when I work out harder helps reduce the snacking feeling in the afternoon.

Blest's Food Log for 7/3 (Blest)

I told Cristina I might log my food too. Partly in order to make sure I’m eating enough  - partly to make sure concerned parties know I am NOT anorexic.    (I am not offended at anyone who may have been concerned - no worries!)  She said she would like to see mine since I keep losing weight. So here’s what  I ate yesterday - and it was a pretty typical day.

Breakfast:

1 oat muffin (I eat light first thing in the morning preparatory to my workout)

WORKOUT: 2.5 intense miles on the treadmill and a leg and ab workout. Remind me to tell you about my leg workout. The physical therapist gave me some good stuff to do!

Snack:

3 soy sausage links and a banana

Lunch:

Leftover salmon fillet mixed with chopped peppers, green onions, and some mustard.  Stuffed in a whole wheat pita with tomatoes.  YUM

Snacks throughout the afternoon:

80 calories of Dark Chocolate

Apple

Leftover Brussels Sprouts

Dinner:

Full plate of chicken, beef, zucchini, sprouts, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, and jalapenos - seasoned with garlic oil, ginger and soy - cooked up for me at the local Chinese Buffet which, thank goodness, has a Mongolian Grill.  I followed it up with some strawberries. (my in-laws are here and insisted on taking us out)

Snack:

about 40 more calories of dark chocolate.

Now I don’t know how many calories that is. But as you can see I eat!.  Probably more than you do!  I think the reason I keep losing is partly what I eat, partly how hard I workout, and partly “just one of those things”.

And speaking of losing…Forgive me for saying it, but I am just so excited.  I know it will probably bobble back up a bit- especially with water issues due to hit, but today I saw129.8. UNDER 130.  Wow wow wow.  Makes me do a little happy dance - I’m just sayin’.

  1. Thanks for posting this. You are doing fabulously! Just melting away. Looks like you are eating plenty. Keep up the good work! Now, go to my post and give me some pointers…I want to stay below 130 ;-)

  2. Wow Blest, you do eat pretty good although I guess you eat a lot of veggies…I don’t eat nearly as many. :)

    Comment by Cristina — July 4, 2007 @ 3:39 pm

  3. I think my metabolism is just slllloooowwwww because I really try to eat good and most of the time I do and I workout hard too, average 6 days a week, 1 hour a day, but I loose soooooo sllllloooowwww!

    Comment by Cristina — July 4, 2007 @ 3:40 pm

  4. I did go through and guesstimate my calories. I’m probably consistently running at 1600-1700. Maybe a little less. This is because, as you said Cristina, I do eat a LOT of fruits and veggies which are not calorie dense.

In another few weeks I may start slowly ramping up my calories. I’m not sure. According to the calculator, as much as I work out, I should be eating 2000 to maintain.

33 Days Hath . . . (CJ)

–okay, June doesn’t actually hath 33 days. I am busy and behind and surprised that it is already the third of July. How did the veggie challenge go for those of you who did it? The first half of the month went really well for me; the second half, not so much. I’d love to hear some success stories!

I need to find a summer treat that is not too indulgent. I crave ice cream in the summertime, and a skim latte just doesn’t have the same mouthfeel. Any ideas?

  1. CJ, it went well for me, but the last week I definitely got by on habit, not thought or planning!

The South Beach plan has a recipe that got me past my ice cream cravings using ricotta cheese. I’ve altered it to suit my taste. Basically you use 1/2 cup of ricotta cheese and add artificial sweetner and other goodies. They recommend coco powder, vanilla, a few chocolate chips, here’s mine:

    1/2 cup ricotta cheese
packet of Splenda or Stevia (I use 1 tblsp agave nectar)
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/2 oz chopped almonds
    sprinkle of cinnamon

    Comment by missy — July 3, 2007 @ 11:19 am

  2. There are plenty of different “diet” ice creams that still taste like the real thing. Try a few different ones until you find one you like. Just remember - everything in moderation!

I like the ricotta thing, too. I made a tiramisu-flavored one: 1/2 cup ricotta, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp instant coffee crystals (finely crushed), 2 tsp Splenda and 1/2 tsp rum (or rum extract). SOOOO good!

    Comment by Jana — July 3, 2007 @ 11:35 am

  3. I did pretty well on the veggie challenge, probably 5 of 7 days each week or something like that. There are some days though that, except for breakfast, I pretty much eat veggies and fruit all day. I could never manage Atkins. :)

I haven’t managed to find a replacement for ice cream, so I only have it rarely and 1/2 cup at that. Frozen grapes work for a popsicle replacement though.

  4. Frozen bananas are good. Mushed up on their own or with a little yoghurt.

    Frozen Strawberries

    Comment by Debs — July 4, 2007 @ 1:47 am

  6. Oh, and how did I do on the challenge?
Well I’ve totally got into the water and fruit & vegetable habit. I don’t think there can be more than a couple of days when I didn’t manage to eat/drink more than enough of those. For example, at the wedding we were at over the weekend with both Bekki and I drinking loads of water, as well as the other six people at the table, I should think the waitresses must have got sick of refilling the jugs for us!

Exercise and not eating sugar I didn’t do so well. That’ll be why I didn’t really lose much weight. Gonna have a think and set myself some more goals with those in mind. I think part of the problem was that there were too many goals, and life got too busy. So I focused on the bits I could do easily and the others got missed out!
But it’s taught me that more specific and smaller goals are gonnna work better for me than trying to achieve lots of things as once! Thanks for the challenge CJ

Food log (Christina)

Ok, so I said I was going to post what I ate so that I could be held accountable, so here I go.  I plan on posting for each day this week.

I worked out: 40 min upper body weights, 25 min stationary bike.

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 slices whole wheat toast with I can’t believe it’s not butter

Mid-morning: Protein bar

Lunch: South Beach Wrap Kit and cucumbers with lime and chile powder

Mid-afternoon: Protein shake

Dinner: Mc D’s grilled chicken sandwich with no mayo (I don’t usually eat out during the week but I was on my own with my little girl tonight)

After-dinner: Protein Shake, 5 teddy grahams that were left in my purse by my little girl.  :)

Summary: So, I stuck to my body for life plan today, with the exception of those 5 teddy grahams.

  1. Great job! How sweet for your daughter to leave a treat for you. So, BFL allows non-whole grain bread? (I am thinking about the bun on your chicken sandwich.) We did BFL a few years back and I just was wondering out of curiousity.

    Keep it up!

    Comment by Brandi — July 3, 2007 @ 6:06 am

  2. No, BFL allows only whole wheat bread (http://www.bodyforlife.com/nutrition/foodlist.asp) but I asked McD’s if they had wheat bread and they didn’t, so I went ahead and got what they had, but I asked them to put no mayo, that way it was just the chicken, tomatoe and lettuce.

I also forgot to put on there my 2 cups of cappucino that I had in the morning. :) I buy the Hills Bros cans and make it with water.

  3. I’m logging my food today too. Different reason, though. I want to make sure I’m eating enough. (don’t throw anything at me) My hubby thinks that with all the weight training and cardio that I might not be getting enough fuel.

Besides, I want to be prepared to give an answer to those who ask me “Are you anorexic???”

Show me your . . . (Blest)

A lot of posts on Etsy start like that.  Tantalizin’, ain’t it!

Okay - I know that stateside it’s gonna be a busy/not so busy week in that it’s a holiday. (Happy Birthday Dear Country, Happy Birthday to you!)  Here’s the two things I wanna see over the next few days.

RECIPES!!! We’ve been short on recipes lately!  How ’bout some good picnic/cookout type stuff. And maybe some good desserts since a lot of us will be partying.

And…  Ideas on how to celebrate our one year anniversary. Here’s my first idea:

The anniversary is on a Wednesday. I propose a special Weigh-In for that day with LOTS of prizes.  Who will volunteer to donate a prize?  Say so in the comments, puh-lease.  It can be homemade, or not homemade and any $$ value.  I think it would be fun to have drawings all day long, don’t you?  Or maybe we could award them some other weigh.  What do you think?

Some of my other ideas include  1. a blog scavenger hunt   2. a reposting of favorite posts  3. posts from members on how their views, bodies, lives have changed over the past year  4…?

And of course, we’ve already had a few requests for a photo montage and a new contest.

Show me your input, people!!!

  5. I think the special weigh in with drawings all day sounds like a fabulous idea! I will donate a $5 gift card to Starbuck’s or a pretty package of note cards…winner’s choice.

I’d also love to see before/after photos.

She's not official, but . . . (Blest)

she does weigh-in with us.  You know, “Natasha”  also known as Sarah, also known as one of my two bestest friends in the world. (who live within a mile of each other and have never met - how weird is that!)  Sarah is one pound away from her goal…  I’ve never made her official because she’s so tiny you would throw things at her.  She started out with us at 126 with a goal of 116.  Sheesh.     Anyway.  It’s her birthday. And I love her muchly. So…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!!!

Presents will be late, of course…

Plodding on (Bekki)

This post started as a comment below, but I had so much to say I thought it should be a post.

I’m down this week, which I didn’t expect. I mostly did OK this week, but there were some notable exceptions so I was fully expecting to have gone up. Oh well, who knows. I did realise this week I’m still using food to cheer myself up; not always the bad stuff (in the past comfort food = vast quantities of chocolate and cake, those days are mostly gone) but still, food isn’t comfort, it’s fuel. Not that taking pleasure in food is a bad thing; on the contrary, eating food slowly and enjoying every mouthful is the exact opposite of the comfort eater’s mindless face-filling. But when I’m more excited about my morning bowl of muesli than my morning prayer and Bible study time with God, there’s some serious priority shifting needed.

On the postiive side, I’ve had a good weekend. My cousin’s wedding was Saturday and was so much fun, not least getting to wear a new outfit and feel pretty in it. Lots of relatives commented on how trim I was looking. There’s photographic evidence of how we (Debs, Elly and I) looked on my Dad’s camera, I expect Debs or Elly can be persuaded to post it.

Other positive things - I realised I’m fitter than I used to be when I went swimming last Monday after having not been in over a year. It wasn’t as hard work as I thought it was going to be, I did more lengths than I thought I’d be able to and didn’t feel achey afterwards. So clearly, the cycling is having an effect. Similarly, I danced and danced at the wedding. HP (little sister, generally considered to be the fittest member of the family as she’s at uni in Exeter which has big hills and she walks everywhere) said she couldn’t keep up with me and I felt fine (tired from the late night, but no aches and pains) next day. So yay for litttle changes that add up to big changes!

Onwards and downwards!

Happy JULY!

marv-mon-weigh-in.jpg

I love July. Love it, love it, love it. I think it may be my favorite month of the year! In just a few weeks, we’ll be celebrating the One Year anniversary of One Weigh - can you believe it? Among other things, on that date we’ll need to do some tabulating and announcing of how much weight we’ve lost as a group since the site’s inception. So why not set yourself a short term goal with that date in mind? Hey! I like that. As a matter of fact, let’s add that to the weigh-in today. What are you going to lose between now and the 25th?!! C’mon, share! And while you’re at it…REPORT!!

Down 0.8, and officially, for the first Monday ever, down over 10 pounds. Since things are going slowly for me, I’ll settle for just being down on the 25th from where I am now. Hopefully a pound and a half, but just down will be great!

  2. 200/165/160

Down 2.8lb from last week, which is totally unexpected. Didn’t really do very well eating properly this week. I realised I’m still comfort/stress eating so I’m making an effort to look to God first and get food into the right perspective. I shall take this week’s loss as God’s grace and keep on plodding.

I’ve got more to say, but I think I’ll put it in a post.

  3. Well, I’m down 10 from when I weighed myself last week. Chalking it up to first week successes so I’m NOT planning on this happening every week - though it would be nice. :-) My goal between now and the 25th is another 10.

  4. Ooh and a short term goal to set. Well, why not see if I can reach my long term goal of 160? I’m getting closer.
(I’ll probably set a new goal once I’m there, not sure what that will be yet though.)

  5. Well I am up 2 pounds this week and with no surprise. We have been going all weekend and eating out almost every meal. I bet I’ll be back down in a couple days, but as for now I am not too happy about it. By the 25th? Hmmmm, how about 7 pounds? That sounds good. Back to real life today. Eating better and moving more. I had been walking twice a day to start, but do to busy things like VBS, I had to cut it to once a day if that. Back to twice this week and I’m sure to see some results!

Won’t be around to weigh in next week, but good luck to all of you. I will be on vacation and I’m hoping to be a good girl with food and exercise.

  6. 147/131/130 No change.
I was weighing down 1 for the last 3 days but now, back up one for no change. I would like to be at 129 by the 25th.

My 25th High School Reunion is coming up this Saturday. At first I was excited and now I’m freaking out. I’ve never been to one reunion yet and haven’t seen any of these people since right around H.S. graduation. Now I’m not sure why I wanted to go other than to say that I’ve been to one.

  7. 330/302/150 Down 2.4 this week, Just 3 more pounds and I will be below 300 pounds, I have not down that is over 9 years. That will be my short term goal. Great job this week ladies.

  8. 210/160.4/150

I am “officially” down 1.4 from last week (though I did hit the 150s on Friday, so I’m up from there, as I knew I would be, which is why I had to post about it).

It is worth noting that 160 was my original goal a year ago, and now here I am! By the 25th, I’d like to be solidly in the 150s, say around 155 or lower.

    Comment by Jana — July 2, 2007 @ 8:15 am |Edit This

  9. 239.8/223.6/200
    Up .6lbs

I didn’t weight last week because I hadn’t been “good” plus work was just keeping me very busy. I was a little better this week but not enough…obviously since I’m up .6. My days start out good but I’ve been having some stressful days so once I get home in the evenings I start snacking. The only reason I’m ONLY up .6 is because I’ve been working out HARD…so that’s helping me to maintain. CRAZY…I want to loose! So enough…I’m tired of being in the 220’s…I want to get to the 2…teens! So, it’s going to be hard since we have a holiday this week PLUS my sister and nephew are arriving this next weekend and staying with us for 2-3 weeks, but I will do my best.
I used to be so good about keeping a diary of what I eat and I haven’t been, so I might post for 1 week what I eat, just to help me get started and you all can hold me accountable. :)
    My goal for the 25th…hmmm…that’s 3.5 weeks at 1.5 lbs….I’ll say 5 lbs…down 5 lbs by the 25th…that’ll have in the 2…teens. :)

  10. 212.8/131/135

    Down 1.4

Hmmm. By the 25th I would like to be under 130. I would REALLY like to be 127.8 because that would be an even loss of 85lbs and I like numbers like that. But that might be unrealistic. We’ll see!

  11. *Blest, can we work on putting together some sort of before/one-year-later pictoral post in honor of the one-year anniv? That would be fun…. ;-)

  12. …how about kicking off the 1 year anniversary with another contest? Something similar to the Queen of May we did where we paid $5 to enter. What can I say…money motivates me!

  13. Yesterday I was DOWN 2 but today I am back to THE SAME: 146.
    Grrr.

Goal for the month? To get to 144 and STAY there the whole time. Is that unrealistic?

  14. Down 1.5 lbs yeah!!!
    170/163.5/120

Wow reading everybody this morning was very motivating… I agree that I would (especially as a charlotte-come-lately) would like to see before and after’s in honor of the year… and I would love a contest since I haven’t been in one yet.

My short term goal for the 25th is 5 lbs. I am still having trouble with excercise… but I am trying to walk with all the kids on the days I can’t get by myself time. Char

  15. 143/130/120ish
    (sniff) up 2
    I feel like a water balloon so I know it’s reten-shone but still…

Goal for the 25th? I would really like to be down to 126 by then. These last few pounds are tough to lose!

  16. I’m up 1.2 which is annoying as it’s an up yet again. However, I know I was down earlier in the week, but life has been hectic since then. I’ve had a wacky amount of lost sleep coupled with my cousins wedding on Saturday. I don’t think I ate too badly there, we just somehow ended up having an extra meal in the day - picnic lunch before the wedding, sit down dinner and then buffet later on in the evening.

My short term goal is to get down below 260 and stay there!

    294/263.2/260 (STG)

My other aim is to get lots of sleep - since about last Thursday I have missed way too much!

  17. 220/178.2/175
    Up .8.
Not too discouraged as we had wedding and visitors this weekend. However I notice that in the last month I have gone down only .4 due to ups and downs. Goal for 25th would be to get to 175. Like Bekki I want to go a little lower but that was the original point to aim for. I did hit it once after an upset tummy in May and got close last month (175.8) before going up again. Haven’t been in at it the whole year but started South Beach in October.
Blest I know what you mean about round numbers, beng a mathematician (numbers freak) myself. Have to confess that my starting weight is a little approximated as I didn’t weigh on digital scales as now. Thata doesn’t mean its wrong just rounded to something nice and easy to remember.

  18. 264/249.8/130 (245 is current short term goal - I’m sick to death of 249)

Down 3.4 this week (almost all of the prior week’s 4 lb gain), so I’m not unhappy with that. Though I’d prefer to not have gained 4 lbs last week!

Walking more, and going on vacation here so I should be eating less. I’ve figured out that we have a bit of a jack sprat problem here. Jack Sprat (dh) can’t eat fat, and I can eat (not much, instead of no) lean… then we are thinking of putting ds3 on a gluten free diet…

    ackkkk.

I should just become a short order cook. thankfully we can ALL eat mucho fruits and veggies, so that helps. And low-carbing works for dh as long as he doesn’t get too much fat. and I sound very confusing, don’t I…

  19. 198/182/140 - no change. I keep losing and gaining the same 2-3 pounds over and over! I would really love to knock off 4 pounds before the anniversery, getting me down below 180 and giving me an even 20 lb loss since starting. I like when the numbers do that too, Blest!

I see so many successes, downward trends and self-awareness. It is very inspiring - I love you guys!

  20. Today at 170.2 Loving it—no loss since Friday, but I’m good with that!

Goal by the 25th—164—12 lbs down from starting on June 14th.

  24. p.s. - my goal for July 25 is 239. A bit impractical, but hey, I’m wishing on a star here. And if I don’t go for it - how will I achieve it?

I want to know that I’ve given it my best this month.

And 239 would be 25 lbs lost. That would be so sweetttt!

  25. Is it okay to just say I don’t want to talk about it?

    216/190/145

No change! Bah. I’m annoyed, but mostly at myself. I’ve not done too wonderful at following any plan in a long time. Someone kick me!

  26. 198/164/140

I’ve been away on vacation for three weeks, and found that my weight stayed the same. I guess that’s sorta okay…. I mean, it’s vacation and all, but gee, I feel a little like I wasted three weeks! I didn’t pig out, but I didn’t eat like I should have. I could have lost 5 or 6 pounds if I’d worked it! Hmm, by the 25th I would like to lose 5 pounds, which would put me at 159.

  27. Anne, I am measuring up at Curves at the end of this week, but I must say, yes, my body is changing. My belly fat is holding on, but my clothes are continuing to fall off. When I began, I was borderline diabetic with a fatty liver and lots of other health problems. I had been at the same weight for about 8 years. My body is really fighting to maintain some equilibrium and the very unpredictable hormonal ups and downs leave me feeling bipolar. I have stretches of days in which I can barely get myself out of bed, then others I am moving like a maniac. This probably best explains my gains/losses. I’m very discouraged.

    Comment by missy — July 3, 2007 @ 6:36 am |Edit This

  28. Missy,

Don’t be discouraged!!! You are taking care of your body and fighting to get it back — it’s going to be a long haul, but YOU CAN DO IT.

As a side note, if you are feeling that back and forth still after some time, would a visit to the dr’s be useful?

Be very, very excited that your body is changing! I know I’m at a different point from you, but I stayed the same and yo-yo-ed back and forth in a 2-pound range for all of March — May…. but during that time my body was changing, and I’ve now (somehow) broken out of that plateau and started to lose again. It’s like my body needed those three months to adjust to the new system but then it was ready to go again. Seriously — YOU CAN DO THIS.

  29. Thanks, Anne. Your encouragement and that of others is the reason I love this site. I’ve been working with a doctor and a nutritionist. My levels (various hormones and sugar) are in the correct range, but I still have dips and spikes, and what you have said is very true for me. I know I will break through in time, but it is still frustrating. I just keep reminding myself that I am 16 pounds lighter than when I started here in mid-February, and 29 pounds lighter than I was a year ago. I move more and I get more balanced everyday.

  30. My goal for July is to exercise for 30 minutes a day, excluding walking. I also think I need a lower-impact form of exercise, because running is hard on my knees. Last night I swam a half-mile.

I am bouncing around in the same stupid three-pound range. Here’s hoping that vigorous daily exercise will shake that up!
