I have had a sugar setback this past week. I had a soda that set it off last Friday and I have been floundering with cravings and headaches all week long. Sugar just makes me sick and I had no idea how sick until this week. It seems the white granulated stuff is the worst!!! Honey doesn’t seem to do the same thing but I cannot eat nearly as much of the stuff so I don’t struggle with that aspect. The sodas cannot be a part of my life if I want to feel good.
I have got to get back on track. Could you guys pray that the cravings subside long enough for me to get control of it again? I CANNOT have any more sodas or any other sugary drinks and I need to really implement the book I am slowly working through called Licking the Sugar Habit and make it stick.
I have also been pouring over scripture this week on eating and food and gluttony and even honey. I made a giant list (3 pages long) of scripture that the Lord showed me and I am going to be reading it over and over again and committing much of it to memory.
I am also reading Ordering Your Private World by Gordon MacDonald (I am a very slow and methodical reader because I like to soak it all up and think on it in between readings). This is shedding some light on things, too. I am picking up with a personal journal again (something I have done for years but just recently let go because of time constraints). I need that time to focus and get stuff out onto paper.
The spiritual aspect really does matter ladies and I am being shown that more and more…
(((Leann))) I’ll be praying. Thankfully I don’t crave sugar soda, but craving anything food/drink related I can so understand and relate to. I know where you are at about needing to get back to a paper journal some, too, as I’ve been feeling (and ignoring) that tug for too long now!

(((Leann))) God took me through skads of scripture last year on this very topic when I did that series on my blog about food. It was so wonderful. I’ve also read ordering your private world….excellent!
I truly believe the spiritual aspect of this journey is THE most important part - it’s something the Lord has been revealing to me and I am in complete awe over it. Living in freedom and not bondage…that’s what I want. I will most definitely pray for you girl. You know where my inbox is if you want to talk I think we struggle with similar things.
