  1. Ok ladies, I’m going to officially join the weigh in today. It’s a bit scary, but I need to own up to myself how much weight I really need to lose before I’m going to really be successful.
At the moment I weigh 294 lb.

  5. I gained big time this week….for several reasons - I’ll talk about those in a minute but first HOORAY DEBS!!!

    256.6 / 209.4 / 135 - up 2.6 (I weigh on Fridays)

Alright, now for what happened: Last week I felt convicted that I needed to analyze what and how much I was eating. Since I’ve had issues with “starve/binge” in the past I decided to actually listen to this conviction and begin charting my food. When I did I realized I have not been eating enough during the week. So, I increased my food intake from Wednesday through Friday. I know this has something to do with my gain but on top of that, my period showed and “big bloat day” fell on Friday (which is when I weigh…it is impossible for me to shift that mindset, been weighing on Fridays for almost 7 years now).

Incidentally, despite being disappointed with the gain, I feel sooooo much better already. I don’t know why I slip back into that habit without realizing it. My plan is to continue logging my food and to increase my exercise (did some jogging this past weekend and I am sooooooooooooo sore). My water intake is great so I just need to keep that going. Anyway, I totally expect to have a loss next week.

In measurement news - For the month of September I lost 5cm overall. It isn’t much but according my my BF numbers I actually gained some lean mass - woohoo :o )

  6. This week, I buckled down. I figured if I was going to be a part of this lovely group of encouraging women, I better get my butt in gear. I was tempted, I made mistakes but overall, I did much better! I’m only down a pound, which is frustrating but at least I didn’t gain! And I’m on the right track!!! :)

  7. 147/141/129 down 2 pounds.

Well… You ladies inspire me! I always get myself in the cycle of thinking, well, I’m not that overweight only 10 or 20 pounds. But even 5 pounds makes a difference! And I can feel the loss of my 5 pounds. This week I’m down 2 pounds and suddenly I feel like what I eat is more controllable. In the past I felt chained to the food and couldn’t say no. This week I was actually able to weigh the costs. I said no to popcorn at the theater (and I LOVE theater popcorn) so that we could go out for a nice dinner with my best friend. It was my birthday this week and I had 1 piece of apple pie. It felt like a little bit of freedom.

You guys rock! Keep going! You all are doing great!

  8. After all has settled this week and after being pretty good at our church dinner yesterday (and eating great at Blest’s on Saturday) I weighed in at 156.8 this morning. Maybe I am finally back on track. I have noticed that my shape keeps changing with the exercise I am doing. I am running further and got five days of exercise in last week. I am shooting for six this week and did my 2.2 mile route this morning. I did not feel like running but the route is pretty hilly so I burned those calories walking fast.

I have done better with water but need to cut sugar back again. I had a soda on Friday for the first time in over 2 months and I felt TERRIBLE all afternoon. It really drags me down. Gotta purge those evil white carbs… LOL

Measurements are about the same this week but my scale says that I am down by 2% body fat from when I started two months ago. I am getting close to a healthy body fat level for the first time in over 6 years.

  9. 151/146.5/132–down 1.5 lbs this week!!! Finally, that scale is movin’ again.

  10. Welcome to the weighin Debs!!!

Blair, I struggle with not eating enough, too. I have an anorexia past and cannot count calories because I get too obsessed and control freak about it. I tend to cut and cut and cut until I am down to 800 calories or less a day so I cannot go there. I LOVE the Sonoma diet for that reason. I portion my plate and I use a smaller plate so I don’t over portion and it keeps me from being an obsessed maniac about it all. I am still “forgetting” to snack, though. I also “forget” to eat when I am supposed to because of the crazy schedule I live on but the kids are great for reminding me that it is lunchtime or snacktime. I love my children!!! LOL I feed them like they need to eat so they, hopefully, will never have issues like I have with food. Snacking is good and I have to keep reminding myself of that.

    (((((HUG)))))

Way to go on that lean muscle mass, too!!! You are doing great!!!!!

The rest of you lovely gals look like you are doing great, too!!! Remember that your body can only lose up to 2 pounds of fat a week. Any other loss is either water weight or you are losing muscle. A one pound loss a week is FANTASTIC so don’t beat yourself up over that - pat yourselves on the back and be proud of that one pound because it is a pound that is not likely to come back.

Anita, you rock, too girl!!!!! :)

    Lady Laura - WOOOHOOOO!!!!!

  11. Well I’m glad you posted what you did Leann… I am only down one pound. But it represents a week of hard work - so I should be glad!

    212.8/191.8/135

    21 gone!

  12. ((HUGS)) Leann, it’s not a fun thing to battle. I should have clued in sooner what was going on (mood swings, whacky period…etc). I’m logging my food not so I can “cut” but to give myself “permission” to eat without feeling guilty about it. Isn’t it stupid to feel guilty over food that’s good for you lol? This goes back years though and while I’m catching it sooner, I’d rather it not happen at all.

My kids also remind me of meal times - I really don’t want them struggling the way I do now. They are currently eating mid-morning snack (they eat 4-6 times a day) so I think I’ll go have a protein shake or something.

    Thanks for the encouragement :)

  13. I am still at 194. I am having a weird thing happen with periods. I am afraid that it is PCO coming on because my sis has that. I am getting back on track with more water and exercise. We worked outside for about 6 hours Sat. and there is more stuff for me to do there. I did my pilates today so that made me feel good. I went through a mini-depression that really laid me low. I was afraid that it was another year long thing coming again, but the Lord is gracious and pulled me back from a dark place. I think I have a good routine started where I can get plenty of exercise in. I just have to fight eating at night because Hubby likes to have snacks before bed. It’s hard not to join him. Thanks for all the support, and way to go, Debs.

  14. “aweight”??? That reaches new punny lows, my dear. (laughing anyway!)

I am not weighing in today - I think I’m PMSing big time, and I am retaining massive amounts of water. I do not wish to be discouraged by the sight of horrid water weight on me. Two days ago, I was 148. I think that was either the same as last week or 1 lb up, I’m not certain. I’ll have to go look again.

I have to run. for someone who “doesn’t work” outside the home, I have been dealing with grand central telephone (it keeps ringing - make it stop!) - and everything was a real important call, not a salesperson in the bunch… and I am supposed to meet my husband in 15 minutes to go shopping at Lowes, and I have to be back home for the speech therapist, and then someone else is stopping by for something else, and then the kids will be home and the rush is on again.

only good news in all of this? I don’t have any time to overeat today, LOL!

  15. same for this week, for a total of 3 pounds lost… which is not much, but still good.

  16. It’s so strange to see the scale moving back up again, instead of down! But, that’s how it’s going to be for the next 30 weeks, so I’d better get used to it. :-) Hopefully the nausea and tiredness will be easing off in the next couple weeks, so I can get back to eating more healthily. Exercise hasn’t been something I’ve been too good at ~ the spotting that I’ve had has made me back off there. So I’m up to 205 today. Hoping to keep total pregnancy weight to around 220-230.
