Down 1 this week. Hope you all have a good one.

  2. Ok so I’m at 260.2 which is 1 up from last week. I think time of the month cravings coupled with several meals that I ate because I didn’t want to make a fuss (whereas really I could have made better choices, but I need to work on the whole ‘I’ve eaten one thing that wasn’t on the diet plan so i might as well just continue’ issue) (Did that make any sense at all? I know what I mean, but I’m not sure if anyone else will!)

However, I think I am on the way to breaking my lose weight one week then put it all back on the next week cycle. I put back on a pound, but I’m still around my lowest apart from last weeks weight, so I’m putting last week behind me and going for a loss again this week!

  3. Debs, I know what you mean…I do that…if I eat something bad, I’ll just tell myself I already spoiled my day, so I’ll keep eating bad and be good tomorrow. :) I don’t do that as much anymore…not since I started SB. But you’re on the right track…you know you do that and you know you have to work on that…so you’re on the right track. :)

Down .8 I would have liked more but I’ll take a downward trend.

This week I’m starting to introduce carbs back in, so we’ll see how this goes. Plus this coming weekend we’re heading to Sea World in San Antonio Fri-Mon, so I’m going to take some good snacks and try to stay as on track as I can. Hopefully with all the walking we’ll be doing, it’ll counteract any bad stuff I might eat.

I actually made it thru my 1st week with 2 cookouts,a monster truck race(where the kids had lots of french fries) and a birthday party..The good Lord gave me willpower..I just had to use it and I did!!

  7. YAY Christy!!

    128.4

I’m getting REALLY frustrated since I still can’t workout. But I can’t complain - I’m holding firm at less than my presurgery weight. And my husband insists that you don’t lose muscle that fast…

  8. 153/145.5/128 Down another pound - hooray!

Debs - I totally know what you mean about when you eat something unhealthy you feel like you might as well keep it up all day! (And get in as much as I can in that day!) Not sure if I’m just looking for an excuse or if it’s the whole feeling like a failure thing.

I’m on week 7 now of my running plan - no more walking now, it’s all running - yikes!! I don’t like it, but I’m doing it, and I feel great afterwards. I can certainly tell a difference in my body, anyways!

    Comment by Dawn — September 24, 2007 @ 8:08 am |Edit This

  9. Christina.. I’m going on a road trip in in a couple of weeks also. It usually means lots of fast food.. If you have any tips when you get back.. Please share :) Enjoy Sea World!

  10. Thanks Blest..

You will be back to working out in no time at all. You are in so much better shape now..it should be much easier getting back into a routine when your body is ready!

    Comment by Christy F — September 24, 2007 @ 8:16 am |Edit This

  11. Great job Christy! 4 lbs…that’s awesome! Especially with all you had going on last week!

I’ll keep you posted on my road trip. I know we’ll be hitting lots of fast food places along the way, so my plan is to stick to salads or grilled chicken burgers without the bun. I’m planning on taking a little cooler with some turkey hot dogs, I can eat those cold, and I’ll put some good deli meats and cheese in there for snacks. Our hotel room should have a frig, so I can keep all that stuff in there once we get to the hotel. We’ll see how this plan works out. :)

  12. 200/164.4/160

Up 1.2. That would be a consequence of last week’s stress. It was a weird week and the effect of leaving my job and starting studying again was a couple of days when I freaked out a bit, including Tuesday night where I ate far too much sweet stuff at a party (old comfort eating habits coming back) and felt soooo bad the next day, a sort of sugar hangover I suppose. Getting back on track this week and trying to work on building good habits and exercise into my new routine. Not that I really have a routine yet, but I’ll get there.

    Comment by Bekki — September 24, 2007 @ 8:27 am |Edit This

  13. Down half a pound from last week. I’m back to tracking what I eat, and trying to get a little exercise in now and then. Spent time this morning pulling weeds from the jungle garden. :-)

Down 2!!! I broke 180 and I will not see it or anything after it again. I make that vow right here right now.
It’s been a good week and boy do I have a recipe for a great pumpkin cheese cake with pecans as the crust. I made it for company on Saturday and they all LOVED it and none of them care for the healthier lifestyle. It is a cross between a pumpkin pie and a cheesecake really. I’ll post it later. Must go shower. All stinky from working out.

  21. 216/185.5/165 (by 2008)

up 3 lbs!! I don’t understand this. I am power walking 3 to 5 miles at least 4 times a week and eating like a Bird (hehe). I don’t think I’ve lost anything but the few pounds I gain that one week of the month since June. But I KNOW I am getting slimmer. I can barely find anything in the closet to wear and terribly afraid I’ll be on AFV soon! My wedding ring that has been permanently stuck on may hand for almost ten years falls off occasionally. My weight loss only seems to occur when I am on SB Phase I, but I just can’t do it - I am primarily a vegetarian and it is so expensive and takes so much planning. Anyway, I’m just whining. I know what I need to do, and I can do it - I’m just tired of plodding through with very little results.

    Comment by missy — September 24, 2007 @ 1:00 pm |Edit This

  22. Missy- it doesn’t sound to me like you’re getting NO results - or even little results. Sounds like really good results - except for the little box on the floor. And that little box is only ONE measurement. If you KNOW you’re behaving and you SEE your results in inches and looks and everything else…then hide the scale if you have to. Don’t let it frustrate you!!!

    You’re doing great!!

    Comment by blestwithsons — September 24, 2007 @ 1:05 pm |Edit This

  23. Missy - don’t let that number on the scale bother you! I went two entire months without dropping an ounce, but I lost TWO INCHES off my waist. I’m with Blest - hide the scale!

  24. 216/198/150

Down 1.5 since last week. Not the two pounds I was aiming for (12 weeks til dh comes home!) but at least it’s in the right direction!

Debs and Cristina, I do that too! One little slip and then I go and cheat for the rest of the day. And it makes it sooo much harder to be good the next day. It’s like it reinstates all the cravings that you thought you’d beat!

    Down 1, so excited.
And I ate pizza for lunch yesterday. But I picked Italian not deep pan with ham and mushroom as toppings and stopped after eating half a medium pizza. It was part of my weekend taking HP back to Uni so it was take away to be quick and easy and HP likes it. I didn’t feel guilty, but to be down 1 after several not ideal days this week was a definite bonus.
And I went shopping. spent lots of money in Long Tall Sally (is there a US equivalent?). The shop is just around the corner from HP’s uni house so a visit there is a must. we unloaded the stuff into the living room and then just went. Her room is up 2 flights of stairs so we left doing that till (much) later.
Sorry better calm down now but I bought lots of stuff in a size 14 and even a top in 12 (UK sizes) I used to be 20 and they were startng to get tight. It seems too good to be true. I feel like a little kid who is getting over excited.
    Yippeee.
PS because I am tall buying clothes is not easy so an opportunity to go to my favourite shop where stuff really fits me is a real treat. And I have the perfect excuse to spend as my wardrobe was very depleted.

Yep, it’s Tuesday - I struggled with my internet connection yesterday and gave up trying to get to this page.

I’m stressed and tired. Working on maintaining. Joined the “Curvivor Challenge” at my Curves, so I have to go 3x a week for 6 weeks to get my prize. I love contests. Looking for an aerobics tape for home that I like so I can add aerobics to the mix. I need to move more to lose.

It's Monday alrady?

Good Morning you crazybeautiful people you!!! I’m in good mood today, can you tell?! How was your weekend?

Did you know it’s sixteen weeks until the New Year? Hmmm…. You know, you could lose at least twenty pounds between now and then! Think of how great it will be to start the New Year without guilt, without that feeling of “Yeah…I really need to get my act together health-wise”. Last year, I loved greeting the New Year knowing that I had already made the change, was starting the New Year much lighter than the year before, and was speeding toward my goal. You can do it!!!

So… Where are you today? What’s your goal for the end of 2007? What do you have to do to make it happen? Talk to me people!

  2. 152/146.5/128 - down a pound! Blest, what a great encouragement about the new year - it always seems like the fall just speeds by and before we know it, it’s the holidays, but you’re right, conceivably I could be at my goal by then! (I’m not getting too set on that, since with still nursing my little one I don’t want to/aren’t able to lose too quickly, but still!)

My goal for the end of this year is 135 - that would be less than I have weighed since before the last two babies! :) To get there I need to keep up with the running (and I think buy some good running shoes fit for me so I don’t injure myself!), and come up with some good strategies for avoiding too many yummy treats around the holidays!

  3. 239.8/217/207 by Thanksgiving (Nov.22)
Down .6 I was sure hoping for more, but I guess I’ll take something over nothing.
I’m sticking to Phase 1 this week as well although I will need lots of prayers and a miracle on Sunday because I’m hosting a Scentsy party and making lots of goodies (taste good, definitely not good for you). :)
    Also, I’m setting a goal of -10lbs by Thanksgiving. That’s 207!

    Comment by Cristina — September 17, 2007 @ 7:35 am |Edit This

  4. Down 3 pounds this week. 190/175/160. I’m half way to goal and there is no way that I am stopping there. So by new years I want to be at 160 and making a new goal for 2008. That sounds fair and reasonable. I was a bit disappointed that I hadn’t lost more since starting phase 2, but I am retaining water this week. We’ll see what happens next week!

    Comment by Nikki — September 17, 2007 @ 7:54 am |Edit This

  5. Cristina, let me STRONGLY encourage you to rethink your menu for that party. There are many good recipes on here for parties - we put them up when Bethany hosted a party awhile back. I would suggest making a host of SB recipes that are yummy - and ONE non SB treat. That way you can load up your plate on stuff you CAN have and not feel bad about the one thing you CHOOSE not to have. Know what I mean?

    Comment by blestwithsons — September 17, 2007 @ 7:57 am |Edit This

  6. 130.
Maybe I would like to loose a couple more pounds before the end of the year. But I’m not really working too hard at it at the moment.
A Big Goal for the holidays is to just not snack so much! The temptations have already started… Candy Corn (which my husband loves!), pumpkin pie will be coming, and then the Holiday Baking. Ach!

    Comment by Anita — September 17, 2007 @ 7:59 am |Edit This

  7. 143/122.5/120
down 5 (.5 in reality if you don’t count last week’s 4.5 pound gain!)

I hope to be at goal and maintaining by Thanksgiving, New years and beyond :-)

I want to second what Blest said about parties. I am one who has always loved to cook the yummy (and fatty, sugary) stuff. When I do that now I either am miserable or more likely I lick my fingers one too many times and feel bad (physically and otherwise.) It’s just not worth it!

And I find that people are glad when I have made something that is good and good for you.

I need to think a lot about this Thanksgiving. I am known for bringing stuff like banana pudding, sweet potatoes with sugary-pecan topping and macaroni and cheese. Those either need to be majorly made-over or replaced.

    Comment by Brandi — September 17, 2007 @ 8:20 am |Edit This

  8. Ok Blest, twist my arm. :) Just kidding, I know, I should make healthier treats. So, I jotted down the recipe for CJ’s Oatmeal cookies with chocolate. You mentioned you added some dark chocolate pieces. Do they sell dark chocolate chips or should I just buy dark chocolate and break it up? For my snacks, I’ve been buying these squares of Lindt dark chocolate, 70%…do you think those would be good? I also found a recipe for a chicken salad and I think the only bad ingredient is craisins, but the recipe calls for 1/2 cup (and mayo but that has no sugar, just high in fat, but that’s 1/2 cup as well).

    Comment by Cristina — September 17, 2007 @ 8:26 am |Edit This

  9. And I’ll have veggies too. :)

  10. Ugh…up 2 pounds this week. Some is water retention, but some is just plain bad eatin’. I didn’t track food last week and it shows!

    Comment by Lorri — September 17, 2007 @ 8:29 am |Edit This

  11. I stayed the same this week at 181. A bit disapointing but I am so retaining water. I’m due to start like today! I should start phase 2 today. I thought about holding out for another week since Jeff is 1 week behind me but I think I am going to go slowly into phase 2. I just got back from the gym and am heading out to the DR. so I ate 1/2 an apple with some peanut butter. The all natural nothing added kind. My absolute favorite!

My goal by New Years is to weigh 160. I had hoped to be at my goal weight of 145 by Christmas but is just isn’t going to happen. I really am loosing tons of inches but am replacing with the muscle so the weight tends to come off a bit slower. I am having company this weekend also and need to do a little looking up to find out if I can have crustless cheese cake on phase 2. Okay, timeyto go have some uckies removed.

I haven’t gained anything, but I need to still be losing. My goal for the new year is to get to 140. I just feel…I don’t know…so LETHARGIC about sticking hard to it! Any suggestions for motivation? 20. 216/182.5/140 - down .5 - it’s a downward trend and should even be better next week. Dad’s been going on walks with me, and we go further each day. Started at 2 miles last week, and we did almost 5 miles in a blink today. He goes home on Thursday - gonna miss him!

I have not really been zoned in since early June. I’m gonna ramp it up and set a goal of 1 pound a week - but I’ll even round it up a little and get to 165 by the end of the year.

Thanks for the encouragement and keep up the good work, ya’ll!

  21. Everyone is doing so well! Great attitudes every one. Lorri, Keep at it. It will come off. It’s great that you recognize food as being the issue last week.
Since we’re having 2 couples over this weekend I was hoping to make a crustless cheesecake and indulge in 1/12th of it. I’m not going to though. Really think it’s something to avoid until phase 3 and honestly, I have resisted ALL forms of evil this last weekend (and let me tell ya, Thursday didn’t end the ugly week for me) but I don’t think I could avoid cheesecake. I avoided torts, rice, and chips at the Mexican restaurant Thursday and only ate the fajita meat and veggies (still was loaded in butter I know) but cheesecake is another story. On the look out for some other dessert. I think I will definitely attempt the SB 5 or 6 ingredient peanut butter cookie. It has no flour so it will be a yummy thing (I hope) to munch a couple of while we play cards.

  22. Blest, did you ever in your life think you would have to put on weight because you got too thin? Wow! I’m glad to hear that you want to stay healthy and not just thin. That is what its all about!

Good to have you Christy. South beach gets so much easier as you go. After the 1st week you will have it down! You don’t realize how much food you put in your mouth that you aren’t paying attention to. I never knew how much of my kids food I ate!!!

  23. Debs and Elly’s internet is playing up, so I’m weighing in for them. They’re both at their lowest for far!
Debs is at 259.2, down 2.8 from last week and finally through the 260 barrier.
Elly is at 170, 2.4 down from last week.

Woo hoo! Well done my mummy and my sister!

  28. Commenting from work today as out internet is being really appalling. We have computer problems too, our main one just died. The internet seems to be a separate issue but my husband is not rushing to get the company in for the modem in case it is our set up that is casuing the problem.
Anyway Bekki posted the weight for us ao I won;t repeat that. I have a couple more pounds to make goal, which is 7 pounds below my original goal. I would like to get there before the new year and maybe a litlle lower but I am easy about it. The main thing i need to do is tone up and get fitter. Still not good at getting the exercise in. Its hard to know what would fit into my timetable and i also need a little courage to try soemthing new. Should I join a gym? is it good use of money? any comments from you lot. I need to get back to swimming I know? Sorry this should probably be a post but I can’t remeber how to do that from here. need Debs to remind me.
Well done everyone, sharing in your joy at going down. Its good to be in this together. And welcome on board Christy F. South Beach is a good plan so weigh to go. Apologies to you non South beachers it’s just that I am hooked on what I know and has worked for me.

  3. Well its a beautiful day at my house. 178. Down 6 pounds! That is 12 pounds since I started the Beach! This is the least I have weighed since before I got pregnant with my 1st baby. Its a very happy day here. I have to gloat sightly. Last night we have a few friends over for dinner. I made a couple of pies and ohhhhh how I wanted a piece. I didn’t even lick the bowl or taste the cool whip! Miraculous! I did however eat sugar-free jello while they all had their fill.

Here is my question. I still really want some things I can’t have. Should I not go off phase 1 yet? Like it took all I had not to have some pie. I read to move on after 2 weeks as long as you cravings have gone away. I don’t know if that will ever happen. Any suggestions?

  5. 216/183/140 down 2. Trying real hard to stay on track. Made a batch of oat muffins to snack on ONE a day. Trying Bird’s boiled egg in the morning - no yolk, though, so I eat 2. My health nut Father is coming in today for a 10 day visit - I’m excited to see him and have a Foodie to share with! Have a great week, ya’ll!

  6. How do you have a boiled egg without eating the yolk? Unless you mean a hard boiled egg (like 10 minutes or so), in which case you can take the yolk out.

  7. 136.4 — up about 3 pounds from the last time I weighed-in, which is about what I expected. I have a huge exam in 10 days, so my goal is to maintain for about 2 weeks and then jump back on board full-force. But still — I weigh a full eight pounds LESS than I did 1 year ago; I’m happy!

    Comment by Anne — September 10, 2007 @ 7:42 am |Edit This

  8. 152/147.5/128 - no change. I did well on the exercising this week - four times, but I think I’ve been slacking in the watching my snacking, thinking that it’s ‘okay’ to have a little bowl of ice cream in the evening, or an extra helping of a delicious dinner just because I’ve been exercising.

Way to go Bekki - you’re so close to your goal! And Nikki, you’re doing awesome - it must feel great to weigh less than before you had your babies! I’m not sure about the cravings, I can’t imagine that my carb cravings would ever go away either (although I’ve never done South Beach). Hopefully someone will know the answer to that.

  9. 130. Life is returning to a routine. Exercising. Eating fairly healthy. Not too many snacks. Next week my sister-in-law is coming to hang out for a couple of days. Shopping to look forward to. Yeah!

    Comment by Anita — September 10, 2007 @ 7:56 am |Edit This

  10. Nikki, how long have you been on the Beach? Today marks my 1 week and I still have aweful cravings for sweets. I was doing Body For Life before so I’d settle my sweet tooth because I’d have a protein bar or a protein shake and add fruit and now on Phase 1 I can’t have that. I’ve been trying to settle my craving by having a sugar free fudgsicle or 2 pieces of Lindt 70% cocoa dark chocolate squares and that helps a little. Every 2-3 days or so though, I’d have a Hills Bros. English Toffee Cappuccino (made with water). That’s probably a no-no, but it helped me stay away from other bad sweets and snacking.
So, I’m tempted to see what others have to say, if there cravings every go away or do they just learn to manage them.

2TEENS, here I am. Yeah…I am SOOOOO EXCITED…my hard work on week 1 of Phase 1 on the Beach paid off…I finally made it to the 2Teens. It was hard work, took lots and lots of self discipline but I made it. My goal for next week

    Comment by Cristina — September 10, 2007 @ 8:07 am |Edit This

  12. Cristina,

You have to do what works for you — if a toffee cappuccino every few days keeps you on plan, than I’d say stick with it (I’m not a Beach-er right now, but I have tried it). Great job and congrats on the 2teens!

  13. 207 today, which is down .4lb from last Monday. My initial goal was stopping the gain, so this is definitely a step in the right direction. I made some choices that were better this past week, too, which was good.

  14. Christina-

I am 12 days into phase 1. Its challenging to stay on track, but some how I have managed. I rely on the sugar-free fudgsicles and sugar-free jello. I indulge in an occasional sugar-free vanilla latte with non fat milk. I get that at Starbucks. It helps a lot, and I don’t think it is a no-no. Its hard but I decided I can do anything for 2 weeks.

    Comment by Nikki — September 10, 2007 @ 8:44 am |Edit This

  15. Ladies, according to the book you need to do what you need to do. Meaning, if you’ve done your 2 weeks and think that adding a piece of fruit would really help then go to phase 2. If you want to stay on phase 1 for another week, then by all means do it. As I read I am finding a joy with SB. It’s not about weighing our food, only eating specific foods with other foods, not totally depriving ourselves. You all are doing so well! I am proud of us all!

    Comment by Tami — September 10, 2007 @ 8:47 am |Edit This

  16. So, I totally had to have Jeff read the scale this morning because I was so excited I didn’t want to look. I have weighed daily (against advice) because I’m obsessive like that. Always have been and probably always will. I must say that I told myself I would do this (although there were a couple days where a bad voice popped in my head and said I couldn’t) and I did it. I got through 1 week without bad carbs and fruit. Oh, I’m sorry, are you all waiting to know what the scale said. Here I am just rambling on. You know, I’m great about that. Just ask my husband. Poor man. Last night while he was trying to watch the game I just kept reading to him from the SB book. Oh, ya know what else…wait I’ll put that in a spunk category. Have I gone on and on enough yet????
Last week when I looked at the scale it read 190. This morning….(I’m so giddy) the scale read 181. 9 pounds gone in 1 week. 1 week people. Now I know that it will slow down drastically but I’m living in the glory of 9 pounds in 7 days. I thought that was impossible for a woman.
212/181/175(stg) I’ve had to change my short term goal because of this. Geesh!

  17. I’ve gotta tell ya one more thing. By staying on track and seeing the weightloss continually, it’s easy to not take a bit of the kid’s cookie at Kroger. It’s easy to drive past Pizza Hut and not want the buffet. Stick with it girls!

No change but that’s ok as I went down lots last week. Well done Tami and Tracy and Cristina and Nikki for your great losses and everyone else I might have missed.
I keep recommending the ‘beach’ to people who ask me how I’ve done it. I think its a great programme.
Several spunks today from people who haven’t seen me since before the summer break. Feels good.

A friend of mine is about to embark on the beach and has asked for my support. At the moment she is reading the book and getting her head around it. I would introduce her to the blog but it really isn’t her thing. She has recently come off a course of strong steroids for eye problems which have put the weight on, and she is hoping the beach will be the ‘weigh to go’ for her. Any experience out there? Is it harder to lose steroid related weight gain?

  26. I weighed in this morning at 163.something (I don’t remember the exact number). I was really expecting to be higher because my last month has been nuts. I started working full time again and I’m struggling to figure out a work out schedule with my new work/job schedule. I’ve been this weight now for the last 2-3 months. It is hard to stay motivated because I’m actually pretty happy with how I look right now. I’m in a size 10 and I don’t feel like the fat girl anymore. I eat things that I shouldn’t but fortunately I just work them off at the gym. I really do want to get into the 150’s though because I know that any weight I lose will really improve my running times.

Happy September!

marv-mon-weigh-in.jpg
Good Morning you wonderful people, you!! It’s another month…and there’s hope of FALL! I don’t know about you, but Fall always makes me feel like a fresh new start - more so than Spring. And you know, there’s only a few short months before we head into the Bermuda Triangle of Gluttonous Holidays. If you have been struggling, consider this your clarion call. You have got to get your healthy habits established right now if you intend to get through the holidays without crashing. Think about that. You don’t want to hit January weighing more, feeling guilty, and starting over again. You want to greet the New Year lighter, stronger, and more confident that you can do this! So… enough lecturing! Let’s get Nike with it and Just Do It!!

Now weigh in! I have spoken!

YAY! 190/184/160. I’ve eaten too. This South Beach thing is really amazing. I feel really good with out sugar too. I told my husband last night that this is the longest I have ever gone without sugar in my life! Hard to believe, but sugar was my life! Did I mention what a beautiful Monday it is?

  7. 264/242.4/130 up 1.6

I’m not feeling very down about this. I didn’t do great yesterday and I’ve swelled up as a result. My low weight this week put me below 240, and I figure that I’ll be back there in a day or two.

I’m just going to keep going the way I am - because it is working for sure. I’m going to Curves 3-4 times a week, walking, and working very hard on portion control and food choices.

I got measured at Curves and I’d lost over 6.5 inches, and about 9 lbs of body fat. (I also lost 9.5 lbs from my last weigh in there.) She said that I’d actually replaced that 9 lbs of fat with 9 lbs of muscle! I like that!

    Comment by Nikki — September 3, 2007 @ 8:47 am |Edit This

  13. I am at 144 this morning, up 2 lbs. from my last weigh-in. I have been exercising quite a lot and not much has changed with my eating, as in I haven’t gone nuts, so it’s all good as far as I see it.

On an Off-Topic note, but semi-relevant to our mission: I was at the store this morning and saw a trashy magazine with famous women in bikinis on the cover. Best and worst bodies was the focus. It made me mad but it also made me laugh to see them pointing out these tiny bits of cellulite and putting those women in the worst bodies category. It was absolutely ridiculous and sadly dangerous at the same time.
I flipped all the magazines around and put them behind a copy of Southern Living. Just doing my part for womankind today. :)

  14. You are SO not allowed to whine about 3.5 instead of 4 Bird!!

I’m hanging in there. I know my doc told me I wouldn’t feel like doing anything for at least two weeks and probably more…but I always bounced back fast from my c-sections so I didn’t really believe him.

He was very right. This hurts like the dickens and I still can’t sleep in bed! Ain’t no way I can work out yet. Just walking to the bedroom hurts! But I am getting better. And I’m eating like a horse…yet I just weighed in at 126.6 - and that’s with a tummy that looks like I’m in my 2nd trimester. (swelling? bloat? who knows…) So apparently I’ve lost a few through this.

I also have a chest cold now dagnabbit. Coughing with abdominal sutres, if you’ll forgive my saying so, sucks.

But I’m in a great mood!! So there!!

  15. yeah…let’s just say that from Friday night through last night I was a carb junkie BUT today is a new day and babies, we’re doing the Beach. Really, I’ve been a bit jealous for a while because many of the yummy things that Blest or others have posted, I could not eat on my plan (LA Weightloss…big money hole that keeps you addicted to sugars! I’m serious…I had to eat 2 of their bars a day and the main ingredient was sugar!). So,
We’ll start the day out at 190.

I guess I slipped one too many times because I’m up BUT I did work out 6x’s AND I’m hoping all .8 (or most) is water weight. We’ll find out next week! Either way, I’m going to try the beach for 2 weeks, so we’ll see how next weigh in goes.
I started today. So far so good, although when we were heading out to the grocery store it was snack time and I was hungry and didn’t know what to grab, so I grabbed a protein bar, that probably wasn’t SB approved. But I was hungry and didn’t know what else to grab. Now that I’ve been to the grocery store though, no excuses.
I had turkey sausage and eggs (1egg, 2 egg whites) for breakfast and for lunch I had a veggie burger with pinto beans and cucumbers. :) Oh, and I just had a sugar free fudgsicle.

  23. I didn’t make it to my WW meeting this weekend, but I was down 1 or so when I weighed myself at my mom’s house a few days ago. I’ve been traveling this week and on vacation from work. I’ve been very religious about working out, but I can’t say that I’ve counted my points very closely. This week, I am going to lose 3 lbs! :)

  24. 152/147.5/128 - I don’t think it’s actually a 2lb loss this week, but I had the brainwave that maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to have our scale on the carpet floor of our ensuite bathroom!? So I brought it out to the lino in the kitchen and there’s a lot less variation if I change the way I stand out there, so I’m going to keep doing that from now on.

Yep, September definitely feels like a new start - the smell of fall is definitely in the air here and I’m feeling the uncontrollable urge to go shop for school supplies (despite the fact I have no use for them, lol!).

I haven’t been doing that well about curbing my snacking in the night when I’m up nursing - baby’s been up a lot this week and somehow a little handful of chocolate chips seems to make it easier - yikes! I need to work on that!

  25. I’m still scale free right now. I’m just having a plain ole crappy week. Work was major stress trying to get a grant proposal out and now my rheumatoid is in MAJOR flare up. I broke out in red sores all over my mouth (apparently rheumatoid can attack your mucus membranes??) and I had to get Valtrex of all things. I’m at the pharmacist counter just praying the guy doesn’t think I have warts. Then to top it all off I have strep throat. I have felt pretty much like a half dead person the past couple of days. My mouth has been tingling and burning so that has also been lovely and my poor husband won’t come near my lips with a 10 foot pole. And some smooching would do my soul so much good right now. =O( Hopefully the meds will start to kick in soon and I will be feeling better. Sorry to vent and whine and complain. I feel better now. ;O)

  26. 207.4 this morning. Can’t remember without looking it up what my highest weight was or exactly what I’d set as my goal. At the moment not gaining any more is the highest priority!

  28. Thanks for your kind words person formerly known as Debs. (Please tell me you aren’t going to start using a symbol for your name next…..) I’m feeling much better today. I’m getting ready to head to the gym for a cardio interval class so I gues I’ll know shortly just how much better I truly am.

  29. Well I’m working on the symbol Mandi, but translating it from freehand to being able to represent it on the computer is a big step!
Actually I think it is working when I try to comment as ‘Debs’, it[’s just that this is saved on my computer, and I haven’t got around to changing it.
    Take it gently though, ok?
