Good Morning you wonderful people, you!! It’s another month…and there’s hope of FALL! I don’t know about you, but Fall always makes me feel like a fresh new start - more so than Spring. And you know, there’s only a few short months before we head into the Bermuda Triangle of Gluttonous Holidays. If you have been struggling, consider this your clarion call. You have got to get your healthy habits established right now if you intend to get through the holidays without crashing. Think about that. You don’t want to hit January weighing more, feeling guilty, and starting over again. You want to greet the New Year lighter, stronger, and more confident that you can do this! So… enough lecturing! Let’s get Nike with it and Just Do It!!
Now weigh in! I have spoken!

Down 2 and at my lowest so far. Hooray! Yep, September definitely feels like a new beginning. You never quite lose the back to school feeling. Especially if you’re like me and keep going back to studying (starting an MA course in English in 3 weeks time, can’t wait). I’m getting back on track with eating properly and aiming to be at 160 by my birthday (13 October).

Well it has been a few Mondays since I have joined you folks here at OWOA. I am happy to report that I have lost the 6 pounds I had gained while away. That’s 6 lbs since Thursday afternoon. YAY! 190/184/160. I’ve eaten too. This South Beach thing is really amazing. I feel really good with out sugar too. I told my husband last night that this is the longest I have ever gone without sugar in my life! Hard to believe, but sugar was my life! Did I mention what a beautiful Monday it is?

264/242.4/130 up 1.6
I’m not feeling very down about this. I didn’t do great yesterday and I’ve swelled up as a result. My low weight this week put me below 240, and I figure that I’ll be back there in a day or two.
I’m just going to keep going the way I am - because it is working for sure. I’m going to Curves 3-4 times a week, walking, and working very hard on portion control and food choices.
I got measured at Curves and I’d lost over 6.5 inches, and about 9 lbs of body fat. (I also lost 9.5 lbs from my last weigh in there.) She said that I’d actually replaced that 9 lbs of fat with 9 lbs of muscle! I like that!

Nice Job Tracy! Inches are so much more encouraging than pounds.
Comment by Nikki — September 3, 2007 @ 8:04 am |Edit This
I’m ba-ack! Well, kind of. My scale is somewhere en route to California with the movers. So I can’t weigh in. I think I’m up about 3-4 over the last month-ish, some weird water but mostly not making the best possible choices while traveling. But I’m back and on track and headed out to go running right now. Next week I’ll have a real WI. Happy week to all!

Down 3.5 pounds.
Yes, I don’t know what happened to my four pound loss I reported earlier in the week. I know I’ve been good and I’ve been exercising. Oh well, I’m not tripping. Last week I called my shot and said I’d lose 3 pounds this week — so I’m happy with 3.5.
I’m calling my shot again: another 3 pounds next week!

Woo-hoo Kellie, Nikki and all the rest of you lovely ladies (and loveliest dude )
143/123/120ish
down 2.5
Wow, I have officially lost 20 pounds! Thanks, OWOA!

Bird you and I have the same goal and weigh almost the same. How funny is that?
Comment by Nikki — September 3, 2007 @ 8:47 am |Edit This
I am at 144 this morning, up 2 lbs. from my last weigh-in. I have been exercising quite a lot and not much has changed with my eating, as in I haven’t gone nuts, so it’s all good as far as I see it.
On an Off-Topic note, but semi-relevant to our mission: I was at the store this morning and saw a trashy magazine with famous women in bikinis on the cover. Best and worst bodies was the focus. It made me mad but it also made me laugh to see them pointing out these tiny bits of cellulite and putting those women in the worst bodies category. It was absolutely ridiculous and sadly dangerous at the same time.
I flipped all the magazines around and put them behind a copy of Southern Living. Just doing my part for womankind today.

You are SO not allowed to whine about 3.5 instead of 4 Bird!!
I’m hanging in there. I know my doc told me I wouldn’t feel like doing anything for at least two weeks and probably more…but I always bounced back fast from my c-sections so I didn’t really believe him.
He was very right. This hurts like the dickens and I still can’t sleep in bed! Ain’t no way I can work out yet. Just walking to the bedroom hurts! But I am getting better. And I’m eating like a horse…yet I just weighed in at 126.6 - and that’s with a tummy that looks like I’m in my 2nd trimester. (swelling? bloat? who knows…) So apparently I’ve lost a few through this.
I also have a chest cold now dagnabbit. Coughing with abdominal sutres, if you’ll forgive my saying so, sucks.
But I’m in a great mood!! So there!!
Comment by blestwithsons — September 3, 2007 @ 8:53 am |Edit This
yeah…let’s just say that from Friday night through last night I was a carb junkie BUT today is a new day and babies, we’re doing the Beach. Really, I’ve been a bit jealous for a while because many of the yummy things that Blest or others have posted, I could not eat on my plan (LA Weightloss…big money hole that keeps you addicted to sugars! I’m serious…I had to eat 2 of their bars a day and the main ingredient was sugar!). So,
We’ll start the day out at 190.
I’m excited for the week and next Monday (wishing I could eat an apple though…ah well…it’s for the good man, for the good).

130. I LOVE autumn! We just got back from a nice bike ride. And our Bible study is starting up again in a week. I hate summer breaks and am SO ready to get back into it.
Good job everyone! Nice to see all those losses. Weigh to go.

Down 5.6 which seems a bit crazy but maybe I didn’t do so bad over the hols and last week was a blip after slightly naughty eating weekend at my mothers.
This is my lowest ever so am really pleased.
So excited at all your good news. Blest get better soon.
Welcome to the beach Tami and Nikki. Apparently I totally missed the fact that milk wasn’t allowed in phase one and had skim milk in my coffee. Oops! But it didn’t stop me losing.
Your good deed with the mags made me giggle Laura.

Down 2
Goal for this coming week - to actually lose 2 weeks running! I really can do this this time.
Comment by Debs — September 3, 2007 @ 2:37 pm |Edit This
Wow Elly, 5.6…and over Holiday…wow! Great job!
239.8/222.4/200 up .8
I guess I slipped one too many times because I’m up BUT I did work out 6x’s AND I’m hoping all .8 (or most) is water weight. We’ll find out next week! Either way, I’m going to try the beach for 2 weeks, so we’ll see how next weigh in goes.
I started today. So far so good, although when we were heading out to the grocery store it was snack time and I was hungry and didn’t know what to grab, so I grabbed a protein bar, that probably wasn’t SB approved. But I was hungry and didn’t know what else to grab. Now that I’ve been to the grocery store though, no excuses.
I had turkey sausage and eggs (1egg, 2 egg whites) for breakfast and for lunch I had a veggie burger with pinto beans and cucumbers. Oh, and I just had a sugar free fudgsicle.

I didn’t make it to my WW meeting this weekend, but I was down 1 or so when I weighed myself at my mom’s house a few days ago. I’ve been traveling this week and on vacation from work. I’ve been very religious about working out, but I can’t say that I’ve counted my points very closely. This week, I am going to lose 3 lbs!
Comment by Gina — September 3, 2007 @ 2:58 pm |Edit This
152/147.5/128 - I don’t think it’s actually a 2lb loss this week, but I had the brainwave that maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to have our scale on the carpet floor of our ensuite bathroom!? So I brought it out to the lino in the kitchen and there’s a lot less variation if I change the way I stand out there, so I’m going to keep doing that from now on.
Yep, September definitely feels like a new start - the smell of fall is definitely in the air here and I’m feeling the uncontrollable urge to go shop for school supplies (despite the fact I have no use for them, lol!).
I haven’t been doing that well about curbing my snacking in the night when I’m up nursing - baby’s been up a lot this week and somehow a little handful of chocolate chips seems to make it easier - yikes! I need to work on that!
Comment by Dawn — September 3, 2007 @ 3:23 pm |Edit This
I’m still scale free right now. I’m just having a plain ole crappy week. Work was major stress trying to get a grant proposal out and now my rheumatoid is in MAJOR flare up. I broke out in red sores all over my mouth (apparently rheumatoid can attack your mucus membranes??) and I had to get Valtrex of all things. I’m at the pharmacist counter just praying the guy doesn’t think I have warts. Then to top it all off I have strep throat. I have felt pretty much like a half dead person the past couple of days. My mouth has been tingling and burning so that has also been lovely and my poor husband won’t come near my lips with a 10 foot pole. And some smooching would do my soul so much good right now. =O( Hopefully the meds will start to kick in soon and I will be feeling better. Sorry to vent and whine and complain. I feel better now. ;O)

207.4 this morning. Can’t remember without looking it up what my highest weight was or exactly what I’d set as my goal. At the moment not gaining any more is the highest priority!

Yay Lori, good to have you. I’ve got my eye on you…!
Have a good week.
Mandi, I hope you begin to feel so much better soon. Love and hugs coming your way from over the sea

Thanks for your kind words person formerly known as Debs. (Please tell me you aren’t going to start using a symbol for your name next…..) I’m feeling much better today. I’m getting ready to head to the gym for a cardio interval class so I gues I’ll know shortly just how much better I truly am.

Well I’m working on the symbol Mandi, but translating it from freehand to being able to represent it on the computer is a big step!
Actually I think it is working when I try to comment as ‘Debs’, it[’s just that this is saved on my computer, and I haven’t got around to changing it.
Take it gently though, ok?

Just to clarify Christina, I was up 3 after my holiday but have been back on track with eating this week and loss seems to have resulted from that. I think the up was a temporary blip.
sugestions for snacks on the go
A few nuts (i usually carry a few in a pot in my handbag for emergencies)Check which ones are allowed on phase 1.
Cheese such as Babybel (light version), laughing cow triangles with veg sticks (celery say)if time allows
Houmous with veg sticks
