Good Morning Chicks and Bird!! How are you? How was your weekend? How are you going to move your booty today??
I know I’m about ready to get my groove on! I tried the New York City Ballet workout on Saturday and yeeeouch! I like it! Things have been quiet around here lately - and we’ve got a weigh to go before the holidays. Let’s get rowdy!!
What do you want to focus on this week? What do you want more of here at OWOA? Let’s talk!!
Oh…and while you’re at it,
~~~~~~ WEIGH IN!!!~~~~~~
164.4 - Down 3.6 — which really I’m still up about 2 lbs from my lowest point but it is headed in the right direction.
I’m down 2 pounds this week to 202.2, so I’m very close to breaking that 200 mark again. After 3 weeks of tracking food, this week it’s time to add exercise into the mix.
WOOOO - off to a great start this morning!!
Mandi, Lorri - great to *see* you!!!
Grr, I’m up 3.8. Totally my own fault, a stressful weekend, to which I reacted by just eating and eating, to which my body reacted pretty badly. I feel terrible today. It’s so annoying how easily bad habits I thought I’d kicked pop up again. This week I want to get back on the wagon and calm down. It’s my birthday on Saturday and I’m hosting a party. I intend to make lots of healthy things to eat so I won’t be tempted to pig out on sugar.
It’s okay Bekki! It’s a new day - obviously the title of this post was for you! (((hugs)))
Yeah, I’m glad it’s a new day and a new week. Thanks Blest!
I’m away from home so not weighing in, but just stopped by to say hi. I’ve got this nasty cough that has been coming and going for the last few months. I think I just need to get myself to the doctors and hopefully get it sorted out once and for all - the problem is that just as I’m deciding I ought to go to the doctors it gets better again. However, i do want to be well for moving to Texas.
Talking of which Blest, I guess we ought to be emailing or chatting and seeing how plans are going…
I moved my booty by walking this morning.
I am looking forward to posts about healthy holiday recipes…makeovers of old favorites and new ideas. Maybe I will post something between 2 and 3 am in my spare time
Yep…up 4. I’d love to blame something other than myself but it was me, all me. I didn’t eat much at all and then when I did it was totally junk. Jeff was gone and I found that while he was gone I just didn’t care about myself. It’s weird but a great thing. It’s easy for me to say “no” when he is here because I’m looking out for him. When he’s gone I just figure what the heck. Am working on it and really seeking God with this new self discovery. Okay…must hop in the shower. Paige (trainer) worked my muscles today.
Hi everyone! I haven’t had a chance to weigh in yet but will do that soon.
Let’s see, this a.m. I did a spin cycle class…first time ever. It kicked my bootie! It was great!
What would I like to see…a contest!!! That would just totally motivate me!
239.8/216.6/207 by Thanksgiving (Nov.22)
Up .4lbs. I sure hope it’s the 20oz of water that I already drank this a.m. and the yogurt and cottage cheese I ate and not all those sugar free fudgsicles I had last night. I definitely need to practice portion control on those popsicles…they are SOOOoooooo good.
Down 2 since my last entry, which I think was two weeks ago. Going down slowly, but at least going down!
No change this week. I didn’t move this am because I was trying to catch up on sleep! I wanted to have another great week, but last weeks 5 pounds is still fresh in my mind. I’m not too upset. I just need this crazy job to end so I can make time for exercise! Looking forward to good encouragement from everyone here for the eating season. I love this time of year, but mostly for the food! Does anyone have a S.B friendly pumpkin recipe?
220/168/168.
Down .6 and whoopee hit the target.
I think God is good. You know how weights fluctuate a bit from day to day and I have been below goal(just) but not on a monday so today it was so exciting to hit goal exactly.
And its one year exactly since Debs and I started South Beach. How’s that for perfect timing.
So what’s next - well keeping here is the next thing. I have relaxed a little but not sure I should let up too much yet. I don’t want to expand out of all the new clothes I have just bought.
Exercise just isn’t happening at all and I am not sure what to do about it. Haven’t even been swimming lately although did go for a walk with hubby last Thursday. Life seems so hectic fitting in preparation for my teaching around all the normal things and being treasurer for our local dyslexia support group. So many of the things I do involve sitting at a desk or a computer which don’t excatly burn the calories off or get rid of the flab.
However am beginning to catch up with myself a little as far as work goes so maybe I can feel less pressured and able to take time out for exercise and keeping fit.
Lets keep encouraging each other, I am certainly not going to sign off. Its so exciting being involved in other peoples stories. My friend Rosie who isn’t really into blogging but has picked up the South Beach thing from me has just lost her first 7 lb. I am so proud of her. we work in the same place as well as being churh friends so we are managing to have brief support meetings in between work (not in time we should be working you may be glad to here)
Better stop going on. I am bad at long comments. I know I ought to post properly but somehow don’t get round to it.
*and she slinks in at 10:52pm pacific time*
hi, folks! i’m back. for real this time. i weighed in this morning at 138.4, which is 5.6 pounds LESS than i weighed at this time last year. blest, thanks for posting last year’s WI… that made me feel better. i’m up about 4-5 pounds (we’ll round to 5) since my lower (weight-wise) points in june/july. since then i’ve started to fall in love (girlish squeal, and that’s all the details you’re getting), moved cross-country, and re-taken my qualifying exam here. and have eaten my way through that. but i stand before you very, very sore because i did a 5k fun run yesterday and actually ran almost half of it. i love running, and i want to get back into it. so that’ll be my exercise plan. and i’m trying to decide whether or not to sign back up for ww meetings to lose these last 10 pounds and get myself under 130. my goal is to lose 5 by thanksgiving and the other 5 by next march. i feel like 2 pounds a month should be reasonable? i realize it sounds kinda wimpy, but it’ll be a lot of muscle building too.
all that to say, i’m trying to get back on track with food. i’m cooking dinner for myself every night this week, and that’ll solve a lot of problems. i just need to not eat too much of all the yummy, good things.
happy monday night to all of you! i’ll be back around more now, i think… i need to be.
** also, is it bad to have your scale on carpet? **
Comment by Anne — October 8, 2007 @ 10:58 pm |Edit This
Anne it probably gives a better reading on a hard level floor but I don;t think it counts as bad.
We look forward to hearing more on the romance story.
You have been through lots of upheaval lately so don;t feel too bad about being up. just go for it on this new plan. Wigh to go.
And thanks for all the congratulations. See what I mean about enjoying others success stories and we can encourage those who are struggling but hanging in there.
Sorry for wigh read weigh. my spelling is awful this am. I didn’t use to be dyslexic but I think its catching.
168/160/130… Down 1!!I had actually lost that one before I left on my trip.. So I am pretty happy that I didn’t gain while I was home. I did make good choices while there. It was not that bad at all!
Comment by Christy F — October 9, 2007 @ 4:45 am |Edit This
152/144/128 - I meant to ‘cheat’ a little and weigh myself on Sunday morning rather than Monday since Sunday was Canadian Thanksgiving, but I forgot… so went ahead on Monday morning despite having eaten the big turkey dinner Sunday night. I stuck to just one smallish helping of everything, but still, it’s a lot of food!! So I’m happy to be down even 0.5.
Has anyone read the Abs Diet book? I’ve got it from the library right now and think it’s pretty good - I’m not following it exactly, but am doing the weight routines and trying to add a lot of the foods they suggest.
Way to go Elly! I’m sure it feels awesome to be able to post that number today!
Anne - I’ve moved our scale out to hard ground rather than on carpet. It seemed like the reading varied a lot on carpet even if I just moved my head from side to side or something, lol! Good luck with the running - I’ve started running this summer and am actually starting to like it!
Hello again,
I originally posted on a Monday weigh in last year after clicking over from Blest’s other website, but didn’t hang around.
Here I am back again with a better game plan. My hubby had a heart test done that finally convinced him to eat healthier. We both started South Beach Phase I two weeks ago. I’ve lost 8.5 lbs. so far and I’m feeling much better in my clothes. We don’t have a scale at home so I weigh at the YMCA on Tuesday when I work out. I guess I’ll be weighing in on Tuesday. Thanks for all of the inspiration, the link to Kalyn’s Kitchen and the recipes posted here.
See ya soon,
D’Aun
Hey D’Aun, Good to see you again, it’s great to have to with us Congratulations on 8.5 lbs gone already
Dawn,
I have the Abs Diet book. I liked it, but was hesitant to try it because the daily calorie intake is more than I’m eating now and I was afraid of gaining weight. He has a newer version out for women and I looked at it when I was in the bookstore. I am still considering trying it…
