Voyage of the scale treader

Way back in 1492

Columbus sailed that ocean blue

He discovered a new land

When he stepped forth upon the sand

We too are seeking a new world

Where we’ll see our new selves unfurled

A world where we will not be chunky

But rather fun and fit and SPUNKy!!

So chart your place upon the trail

By stepping forth upon your scale -

Set forth your colors, Today’s the Day

Sail on in hope, Anchors Aweigh!!

  1. Having complained about wanting to weigh in and everyone being asleep i guess I’d better get on and do it! I’m only down point 2 of a pound, but given my manic week last week I’m not surprised (I was looking afer kids that weren’t mine and I wasn’t at home etc etc).

Anyway, my real exciting news it that I started on South Beach as of breakfast this morning (which for me was about 7 hours ago ;-) )

  2. 256.6 / 207 / 135 ~ down 2.4

Not bad at all :) It was more but that’s ok. I’m eating at least twice as much during the week as I was. I’m feeling better in that regard, which is good. Of course, I do have a kidney stone that flared up on Friday and still hasn’t passed.

  3. I am up 2 pounds this week. (So, that puts me at 148.5–again). I “started” last night, and my first full day is always bloaty and crampy. I also ate out a lot this weekend so how much is related to that I will see in the next day or two as the bloating subsides.

  4. 147/140/129 ~ minus 1 pound this week.

Not much to report. There was a bit too much snacking this week. And not much exercising. It’s going to take a couple of weeks at least until my hip feels better and I can exercise more again. Right now I’m just riding my bike or the bike at the club. I like to work out in the morning and I only have 1 morning this week that’s free, so I’ll have to try extra hard to ride my bike at home.

  5. Too much sugar… already whined about that earlier this week. I have a head cold now, too… *sigh*

I am up one pound this week. I did walk this morning and ate breakfast at a sensible time instead of forgetting, like I did a few days last week, to eat before 10:00am. Now, I am off to guzzle the grotesque amount of water needed to flush this sinus headache and head cold. Oh, and for Blest… I did use my sinus washing gadget already. That is the only reason I can breath out of my nose right now…;)

  6. Well, I got a new (digital, reliable) scale last Tuesday… and I’m down 0.4 pounds since then, even with a run-in with a homemade apple pie this weekend. I’m counting my new, official “starting” weight as my last-tuesday weight, leaving my numbers:

    144.4/144/125 (short term / christmas goal: 139)

My new, cool scale also does body fat analysis, which has been the best thing for keeping my honest, as I need to get rid of the body fat to help lower my cholesterol…

    Cheers for a new week!

  7. Down .6. Could be more - but could be less, too, so I won’t complain.

  9. Down another pound. Lots of medical stuff going on for me right now so I’m excited that I was able to go down and not up!

  10. Down .6 this week. But then I’ve been sick all week in bed and not able to exercise, so it’s no wonder it’s not more.

  11. Down 1. I hate cold season. I don’t want to exercise. I want to stuff my face while wrapped in a blanket watching Jeeves and Wooster with my Hubby. I did work outside for 2 and 1/2 hours on Saturday. I am building some musckles from using those pruning shears. Let’s just hope the crepe myrtles survive.

Down .6 this week and feeling great!! I am now an official size 14 which makes me pretty darn excited! I have tried size 14’s on at New York & Co., Old Navy, Gap, and Walmart and they all fit. Size 12 — You’re On Notice!!

  13. Well done everybody. I’ve just got back from shopping with my mum for lots of south beach suitable goodies ;-)

  14. in case anyone is panicking, I mean things like lettuce - I’m really into that at the moment. And we just had a ricotta pudding thing. We couldn’t get reduced fat ricotta, so we used 1\2 quark, which is low fat. Don’t know if you guys have that though. The ricotta stuff was yummy. We got several things to try out that we might not get again, but that is definitely on the have again list!

  15. due to a combnation of factors — I am UP 3 this week! not good I know but

    Comment by Maria — October 9, 2006 @ 3:17 pm

  16. up one to 250, but I am happy!

Because I am doing better in other ways, and I am especially to have this group. I’ve been dealing with a lot and usually when this happens, I’d be up 5-10 lbs! And this time I’m only up 3! And - most importantly, I know that it’s mostly water from PMS stuff - so I’m probably holding steady.

praying hard to keep improving and watch the scale go the other way again!

  17. Hey everybody! I was on vacation last week and totally did not weigh-in at all. So my weight loss is actually for 2 weeks. I am down 5.8 pounds for a total of 28 pounds! Yay!
Vacation was awesome…we went to Daytona Beach (I wore a 2 piece…shhh). We walked the beach 3 different mornings at 6 am about 3 miles. The beauty of a beach sunrise is motivation enough to make you keep going till your legs ache. By the way, walking in that very soft sand at high tide will make your legs ache like crazy the next day. But it felt so good!
Glad to be home though! :)
