Lady's Daily Diet (Lady Laura

My diet for today began with:

1 slice 7-grain bread (71 calories)

orange marmalade (10 calories)

coffee with 1/4 c whole milk (37.5 calories)

1 c black grapes (113 calories)

Total breakfast: 231.5

Then, lunch.

Large salad:

2 c baby spinach (13 calories)

1/2 c tomato (16 calories)

1/2 c cuke (7 calories)

1/4 c roasted chicken breast (80 calories)

1/2 c granny smith apple (37 calories)

creamy poppyseed dressing (110 calories–yeowch!)

With a side of:

8 reduced fat Wheat-thins (65 calories)

2 T hummus (50 calories)

Total lunch: 378 calories

Afternoon snack was

3/4 c Dannon Fit&Lite strawberry yogurt (67.5 calories)

1 spiral string cheese (80 calories)

Total: 147.5 calories

For dinner was a soup I made up, so my measurements are not exact, but pretty close.

1 c black beans (198 calories)
1/4 c corn (34 calories)
1/4 c Rotel tomatoes (30 calories)
2 cloves garlic (?)

1/2 c roasted chicken (160 calories)

with a side of steamed carrots: (52 calories)

1/2 T butter (51 calories)

Dinner total: 525 calories

Then there was dessert:

1/2 c mint chocolate chip ice cream (160 calories)

Day’s Total Calories: 1442

Except for dinner, this was a pretty typical day. Normally, I would eat more at dinner, but I knew I was going to have ice cream with Nick tonight, so I didn’t have seconds. And I gotta say, while it was enlightening to check the calories, it was also a big pain.
