Spring Forward!

Time changes, man. They mess me up! But I’m up and moving now and contemplating my next workout… Woo Hoo!

marv-mon-weigh-in.jpg

It’s that time again, my friends! Time to step on those scales and let the numbers have their say! Today’s weigh-in prize comes from Cristina, who has a buffet of choices from Mary Kay and Creative Memories! I’ll let her tell you about that when she picks the winner!

And lest I be smited by Kellie when next I see her at church, I hereby promise to post the leaderboard for the QOM competition sometime in the next two days!

  1. You are dragging a bit this morning. ;-) Even I’m up and moving and there aren’t 20 people commenting before me. Wow.
No change this week. But I’m okay with that. There’s been a lot of stuff the last 2 weeks. Hopefully, I can get past that and finish the last 3 weeks of the fitness challenge at my club without stressing out. I’m a little bit behind in one area. Urgh.

    147/136/130.

  2. 212/183/145…down 1 this week.
You know, as I lose weight I continually change my goal weight. I’m not sure where I want to rest at. My Dr. said if I just get to 150 he’d be happy but according to the charts I’m supposed to be 118-135. I dunno! I do know that when I was 260 I thought I’d be happy at 175 but that just isn’t so.

Up 1lb, which isn’t bad considering all I’ve eaten this weekend while staying with a friend. I decided to treat it as holiday and eat what I liked. Actually mostly I ate sensibly, if you don’t count the chocolate :-) . I’m feeling much more relaxed today, the break and the Devon air did me good. Back to work and eating sensibly again today.

  4. Am I first?

    275/5/273/250

Still waiting on parts for my brand new elliptical that arrived two MONTHS ago and I haven’t been able to use. I don’t recommend Nordic track at ALL.

    Good luck ladies!

    I’m up .2

I hope it’s only because it’s that time of the month and because I usually work out before weigh in but this morning I had an early meeting.

I maintained this week. Which is perfectly fine with me. My weigh-in last week “felt” too low for me, and this week it feels “right”. Plus I just spent a weekend with my grandparents who fed me all sorts of not-too-healthy things! So I’m actually really happy to be at the same weight I was at last week! :)

  13. I am sad to report that I am up again, another pound. Since I was up last week too, I was very conscious of everything I did but hormones are hard to fight. I started this morning. Ugh.

  17. 210 / 172 / 135 - i’m up 2 lbs this week — I was so sick this week and for the most part felt like crawling in a dark hole. This will be a better week since I started feeling better on Saturday.

I’m down 2 more from last week. The 2 I lost last week and this 2 were all from the stomach bug I had all last week. And lest you think I didn’t “work” for it - I SPRINTED to the bathroom multiple times for 5 days, I had a great AB workout MANY MULTIPLE times (we won’t get into the gory details) that left me sore for days, and the labor in eating liquid food (jello, soup, & apple sauce for 3.5 days) without throwing it at the wall in frustration was immense! LOL! I am finally exercising again but the stomach is touchy so many small meals are the way to go!

    Comment by natasha25461 — March 12, 2007 @ 10:15 am |Edit This

  19. Well, I was hoping to get back below 200 this week but ended it at 200 on the nose…yes, I’m slightly frustrated lol.

    256.6 / 200 / 130-140 ~ down 1.4

I do know what I did wrong though…I didn’t work out AT ALL last week. I was trying to force myself to get up on time with the notion that I wasn’t allowed to workout if I didn’t….well, it didn’t work. And now I have time change messing with me…not cool. Hormone stuff (ovulation) also played a role but I don’t think that would have been as bad had I at least worked out. Anyway, I’ve already worked out for about 45 minutes today and Lord willing will hit the 100’s again next week. I’m positive I’m in dead last place in this competition so far lol.

  20. 264/251.6/130 (250 - short term goal)

Well, I had hoped to be in the 240s when I posted this week, but instead I’m up .8 lb. Oh, well.

I do notice that my pants are fitting more loosely - the exercise is doing something. I get measured (Curves) next week - I’m looking forward to seeing if I’m losing any inches as a result of exercise.

  21. 215/210/150

That’s down a measly .2. But it’s still down! Last week was a kind of bad week here, and I think some postpartum hormones kicked in because I absolutely felt like it was the end of the world, but now I have no idea why! So it was either post partum or I’m pms’ing for the first time after the baby.

Down 1 from last week, but still up 1 from my lowest since I’ve been dieting. No excercise at all. But my knee is doing better and I’m gonna attempt walking tomorrow! Not tonight, since I have a stupid PTA meeting at work! Blah on extra work hours!! :(

Down 1.2. Wish I knew how to put in a smiley face. Well done Karen, Missy and Jans who have each gone down into the next decade. Feels good doesn’t it. Well done everyone for keeping going especially all you sick people. Natasha/Sarah (I’m a bit confused)you sound as if you have been really rough so take things steady dear.
Kellie don’t be discouraged - you are on the way and it will go down.
I think I have been losing inches more thatn pounds lately though only judging by the clothes not actual measurements. People at work keep saying I am disappearing. I think its a compliment.

  24. Ok smiley face : - ) without the spaces.
if you want a big smile put : grin : without the spaces. I guess I could have walked upstairs and told you that, but then anyone else that doesn’t know how wouldn’t have got the benefit :-)

  28. I very well may be the first dude to post on this thing, but I figured, what the heck!

My wife, Brandi, and I are starting South Beach TODAY. Actually, it’s evening time and I haven’t had a single carb all day. I’d love some french fries right about now!

Anyway, my starting weight is 231.5. Of course, that’s all lean muscle. ;-) Hehe … I wish.

My current weight is, well, 231.5.

    My goal is 160.

Gosh, I hope this doesn’t get back to any of the Thinklings … :-)

  29. Hi Everyone! Yes, as my dear husband said, we are starting South Beach today and are so thrilled to have an awesome support system here at OWOA. Here is my first weigh-in:

    Starting/current: 143
goal: (not totally sure, but) 120

  30. Aright, Bekki (also know as pigwotflies) and Mandi…as regular Thinkling visitors, you are sworn to secrecy! No telling on Bird! Welcome, you two!!

  31. What’s a “Thinkling”? Is it some kind of elf?

    Comment by missy — March 12, 2007 @ 5:51 pm |Edit This

  32. Missy, pretty much. There’s a subtle distinction between Thinklings and Elves, but the similarities are so striking that it’s not much of a difference. Sort of like dogs and wolves.

    Comment by Bird — March 12, 2007 @ 5:56 pm |Edit This

  33. Elves don’t need diets for one thing… That would be us Hobbitses.

And Bird is not the first Thinkling to go on a ahem reduction plan. Jared lost, like, 40 pounds or so last year. You’ll have to show him up, Bird!

  34. Hello All!

I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting last Thursday. Baby number 4 is now 4.5 months and my sister is getting married in the fall so I had to get started losing some extra pounds. It’s going pretty well so far. I just really needed to know what to eat and how much was enough. I’m so glad the weather is warming up too. We are outside all the time.

    Official Weigh In : 187.2
    Goal : 148.1

At the beginning of the other comments is it Starting Weight/Current Weight/Goal Weight? I’m pretty sure but just checking.

  35. Hey Gang,
    194/186/155
I’m down 2 more this week. That is 8 so far. I know slow is best but man I sure wish I could lose a little more at a time.
I am VERY strict to my diet plan, ugh!!
I’m so scared if eat something I shouldn’t I’ll undo the work I’ve done. I’ve been here and I do mean right here so many times in the past 2 years. I keep gaining and losing the same 10 pounds over and over. I won’t do that any more!!! My first goal is to be under 180. Really 178 because it’s just to easy to hop from 179 to 180.
    Hanging in and haning on!!!

  36. Welcome Brandi and Bird, it’s great to have you with us

    Kristi, yes that’s right:
start weight/current weight/goal (I tend to have short term goals as I have a lot to lose, and extra opportunities to say ‘yay!’ are always good!
