Ouch!! (Bethany)

Joshua and I went out to eat tonight. I did quite well…ordered Tilapia and steamed broccoli. It was yummy.

But, on the way in the restaurant, Josh had the baby seat, and one of the straps was dragging on the ground. Well, this was driving me nuts, so I tried to grab the strap, while stepping off the curb, in my really cute boots with heels….and anyway. Crash!

So embarrassing. Everyone was very concerned. And I couldn’t move much at first. I fell on my knee, but broke most of the fall with my hand…which is now all scraped up. I sat on the curb for a bit, trying not to cry. My knee hurt but I really think I only bruised it pretty good. When I felt like I could walk I got up. Not too bad!

But now…ouch!!! Bending it at all hurts! Streching it out hurts!! Stairs hurt! Sitting hurts! Standing hurts!!

I think Tae Bo is off for a bit. Hopefully it will be better by the 17th. I had my first 5K then….

So anyway, all that to say, I’m on the injured list. :( Please pray for me. It’s so easy to get out of the exercise habit….

  2. Holy hand grenades BatGirl!! What did you do that for?!

Okay…here’s what you do. There’s this thing called Chair Dancing - my mom even bought a video of it. You work out in a chair. You can use hand weights and twist and pump your arms and whatever else you can think of… And you can still do crunches, and windmills, and sun gods… I can explain those if they aren’t familiar. Don’t Give Up! Never surrender!!

All that said… Man! I sure am sorry you hurt yourself! Big HUGS to you!

  5. Thanks ladies. I’m not sure what I’ve done to it. It might be more serious than I thought. I may be going to the doctor today. Back in my basketball days I got all the regular injuries (shin splints, sprains, pulled muscles) but this feels different than anything I’ve ever done. It’s weird. I can stand and put all my weight on my leg and it’s fine. But when I try to move my leg at all, (raise it from a lying down position, walk, go from sitting to standing, or standing to sitting) it’s terribly painful. And getting worse.

You’ll have to explain son gods to me Blest. I thought that was Apollo!! :)

  6. Oh my goodness, that’s not good. You should definitely go check it out to make sure that it’s nothing more serious. Better safe than sorry. I’ll keep you in my prayers for a fast recovery!

  7. Bethany…sending prayers your way and hoping it feels better real soon. Don’t wait to see the doctor it could be serious and then your only rehurting it by waiting.
