Here is the breakdown of what I had to eat yesterday. All items will be organic
Breakfast:
1 cup organic toasted o’s
3 strawberries, 1/2 banana
milk
bottle of water
Lunch:
BLT sandwhich on homemade bread
pear bottle of water
Dinner:
salmon pattie
fries
salad
bottle of water
I looked everything up my dear blest and it was a pain, but I love you so I did it. My total calories for yesterday where 1150.
I love you too! And I gotta say…that seems like an AWFULLY low calorie count. And two snacks would be good too. Eating every two to three hours keeps your metabolism ramped up. And especially if you’re exercising you need more fuel than that.

Okay. I crunched some numbers. Your BMR - which is how many cals to eat if you did NOTHING and wanted to maintain your weight - is about 2100. To lose a pound a week you cut 500 cals a day. AND you are exercising which cuts out more calories. I would recommend going to about 1600-1700 calories and making sure you’re moving. Slashing too much causes your metabolism to ramp down.
And lest you doubt - I routinely eat about 1600 cals a day and am steadily losing. So I know whereof I speak!

Really? The only time I’ve ever lost weight I was eating 1200 calories a day.
I’m 275 (or slightly lower) right now. I have to admit, I get a massive headache when I try to eat 1200 calories now.
SOrry - I don’t if I’m even allowed to post questions since I’m not a member…..*blush*

Don’t be SILLY!!! Go read the About This Blog section. And don’t act pitiful!
I’ll do a post about calories and metabolism soon - but first - MUST DO CARDIO! Woo Hoo!!

kellie,
i agree with blest. your calorie count is too low. from everything i’ve read, if you’re (all of us, not just you) eating less than 1200 calories a day, your body will most likely go into “starvation mode” — where your body tries to protect and keep all the fat cells it has because it thinks that food is scarce. and if you’re working out on top of that, you really need to be netting (calories eaten - calories burned) at least 1200 calories.
slow and steady wins the race you could throw in a handful of almonds or walnuts and some more fruits/veggies… plus maybe a little olive oil.
good luck!!

Headaches are a sign of blood-sugar issues as well. Your body is trying to tell you “I’m starving!!”. Use http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/blcalcalc.htm to find out your maintenance calories, then cut by 10% a week, so you don’t mess your metabolism up. By the way, in order to qualify as “moderately active” you should be doing some type of cardio/weights at least 3-4 times per week.
Good luck! Please don’t starve yourself! Any weight you lose that way is bound to come back.
