Yes. I’m a big, hairy, smelly dude and I’m now a posting member here at good old OWOA. Sorry if the transition may be hard for some of you gals, but never you fear, I won’t be asking for any digits or passing any “do-you-like-me?-yes-no-or-maybe” notes because I’m a married man and my lovely, thin, beautiful wife, Brandi, will be joining me in this OWOA adventure. I’d like to thank everyone for the warm welcome you’ve given us already. We feel the love around here.
In addition to OWOA, I blog over at Thinklings and Brandi and I both blog with Blest over at ASKIDSARECOOL.com. We’re both evangelical Christians, saved by the power and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
My mission is to lose 70 pounds and I’ve got a good start so far. I’ve dropped about 14 pounds on Southbeach the past 2.5 weeks and I’m ready to shed the remainder as soon as possible.
I’m sure you’ll learn tons of new factoids about me and Brandi in the days and months to come. Hopefully we’ll both be able to encourage you all, and maybe even make you laugh, while we get rid of our “fattys.”
Oh, yeah, Brandi said these things are better with a photo so now, for your entertainment, I offer you this picture of a monkey smoking a pipe … er … me:
Yer a nut. Love the post title. Y’know, if you go bald and keep the weight, you could do a creditable impression of C.S. Lewis.

Glad to “meet” you. I’m sure you will keep us all on our toes.

Loved the post title too! Do you really smoke a pipe or is that a literary prop?

Thanks, gals. Yes, I do smoke a pipe and yes I am a C. S. Lewis impersonator. Yes, I do smoke a pipe. No, it doesn’t help me lose weight.

Thanks, y’all. Tami, tell him it’s his duty to keep you warm with that type. I just bought some new tobacco tonight I’m going to try out.
Thanks again for all the warm welcomes.

Ya gotta tell me whatcha think of the new stuff. Is it a sweet, fruity tabacco, spicy, huh? huh? huh? Did you buy it from a local shop? We have nothing local here. We did back home. Now we drive to get tobacco. You know, when I was pregnant with Emma that’s what I craved. No pickles and ice cream for this gal. I just wanted to smell pipe tobacco.

Tami,
It’s called Early Darkness and it’s a moist cavendish. Supposedly it’s good for a cool smoke, which is what I need for a newer pipe I’m trying to break in.
We’ve got a local tobacconist here who’s pretty good. They sell pipes, tobacco, cigars and fine coffee and teas. Just walking into that place is a delight for the nose.
Where are y’all from?
Comment by Bird — March 30, 2007 @ 5:24 pm
Ok, Tami, I’m smoking it now and it’s a coooool smoke. It smokes like icecubes. I like it!

Oh, yeah, Tami, if you all ever want me to buy something from my place here and ship it to y’all let me know. I think all of their aromatic tobaccos are like $3 an ounce. And remember, smoking a pipe is always calorie free!
