6 moth update - stephanie

I’m glad Lorri already posted, so I’m not the only one reporting a weight gain after 6 months. :) Like Lorri, we found out we were pregnant (with #3) about 4-5 weeks into OWOA. I had lost between 12-15 pounds … I can’t remember … and then had to call it quits on dieting. However, I have made changes in the kind of foods that we keep around the house and look forward to doing some more. We are keeping less snacks at home, and more veggies are appearing on the table. (I’m ready for summer and the fruits and veggies that come with that season!) There have also been struggles with tight budgets and difficulties shopping as healthy I would prefer to with the resources I have to work with. But God has been faithful, and we don’t go hungry. This is where working on portion control has come in handy. Although I freely admit that portion control plus pregnancy doesn’t always work! :)

25.5 weeksOverall, I’ve gained 12 lbs. in the last 6 months, which is VERY good for me during a pregnancy (huge babies and I retain abnormal amounts of water) … my doctor is even pleased. A lot of that is due to the encouragement that I get here at OWOA to stay the course, even if I’m not seeing the results right now. It just puts me a step closer when it will be time for me to get back on target mid-summer. And, I’ll be expecting y’all to stay around and back me up when it’s my time to get busy again. :)

And, of course, would have I met Blest without OWOA? Probably not! Another reason to be thankful. :)

  3. Great job on keeping a healthy pregnancy weight gain, Stephanie! It will make it much easier once the little one is here. I hear you on the budget issues ~ we’re really trying to stick to a tight grocery budget, too, and that sometimes makes it hard to eat as healthy as we should. But portion control, like you said, helps a lot, as does making soups and rice with beans, etc.
