Did you know that in just three short days One Weigh Or Another will celebrate its six month anniversary?! Cool huh?! Let’s get the party started with a pumped-up, high-energy weigh in!! Let us spur one another on to love and good foods! (okay, that’s not how that goes…but eating right is a good deed - so there!)
And of course, this is week 2 of counting our Happy Heart Challenge points! How are you doing? Are you moving and grooving? And although you might not be in the lead for the grand prize, are you still reaping the rewards of using your shoes? I know I am! Don’t forget to tell me your points!!
Happy Monday Everybody!!
Okay… I’m putting Blair’s stats in here since she posted below. I just want to keep things together Blair is up 2.8lbs - most likely fluid from being in a van for 21 hours. And Blair was SERIOUS about exercise, logging 20 points!
As you read this, please take a minute to pray for Blair.

Down 1. 3 paltry exercise points. I’ve got to re-think my schedule and find a different time to workout. I know this is just an excuse, but with homeschooling, science and latin classes, ballet, tae kwon do, etc. - I feel like my heads spinning!

Down 1 - Yay Carrie!!
And let’s see… we have piano lessons, drum lessons, violin lessons, voice lessons, AWANA, Choir rehearsal, and I think I must be forgetting something….
GET YOUR EXERCISE!!!!
Saying all this with love, of course!

147/139/130 down 1, finally, from the holidays.
8 official exercise points.
But we went skiing over the weekend. I’m not sure how to count those points for exercise. There’s no boring sweating going on - it’s more like lifting weights. But at least 1/2 the time is spent in lines for the chair lift and on the lift itself. Maybe, could I add at least another hour of exercise points for a total of 12?
Comment by Anita — January 22, 2007 @ 8:25 am
Makes sense to me! Counting you at 12!

200/186.8/160. Down 2.8 this week. I’m starting South Beach phase 2 today, so there are lots of new things to think about. My initial goal was 180 by the end of the March, but it looks like I’ll be at that by the end of February, which is great. Got to stick to it to get there though!

I’m down 1.8 pounds and logged 6 points this week. We have had awful sickness going around. Every child is throwing up and I have been feeling like I got run over by a truck. =O(
Hopefully we will turn the tide this week and start feeling human again.

WOOT!!! I weighed yesterday and was the same as last week but for some reason I am a whole pound down today - after eating breakfast and having my big 32 ounce water first thing, too!!!!! So, I am back to 153 and hopefully moving down from here.
My total points for the week (with being sick for most of it) are 8. I am also wearing my pedometer from now on each day to try to up my steps to at least 10,000 a day. Yesterday, I had an eye opener when I only walked 1,000 and that was WITH a trip to Walmart for school clothes for the oldest. I need to step it up… (pun intended)
So, new goals for this week…
* make sure I am drinking my 80 ounces of water
* walk 10,000 steps a day
* keep eating white food free
* exercise for at least 30 minutes a day as I feel better (still have a cough). It will have to be inside until this weather passes, too.
* add some light callesthenics to tone some trouble areas.

215/194.7/160 Down 1.1 Exercise 8 points. 8 GRUELING points…
I’m now under a doctors care for my shoulder/arm. I had blood work today (torture, pure torture) to rule out arthritis, and xrays on my neck and shoulder too. Blech…

194/188/145
I’m still at 188. I’m glad I’m not gaining, but I guess it’s time to address my eating habits. I’ve been working out 2-3 times per week for the last 2 months (from total coach potato before I started working out). I’ve almost totally eliminated all types of soft drinks and upped my water in take. I’ve looked at South Beach and similar life style changes, but I don’t think our budget will allow that right now.
Blest has your food budget changed much since you’ve become a South Beach babe?
Oh, I have 12 points for the week.
Thanks!

Hi D’aun!
Well… in the beginning I spent some $$ investing in some new spices, good olive oil, and such. But after that, I’d say that our grocery bill is probably about the same if not a little better. After all, junk food is expensive! No more chips, no more sodas, very little by way of ice cream and whatnot. Plus we used to eat out at least once a week - sometimes more when you count a fast food lunch or dinner here or there because we were in a hurry… And no more Starbucks Cafe Mochas or pieces of pumpkin loaf…. On the whole, I think our food budget is lower. Eating healthy really isn’t that expensive, y’know? Beans are as cheap as you can get. And fresh veggies aren’t too bad…

Great job everyone!!! Look at all those points!!!!! I am so excited. We are all moving!

I’m at 269.2 which is down .8. I have been lower during the week, but I guess at least it is down.
I’ve got 14 points this week.
Um, that’s 294/269.2/260 (short term goal)

220/192.8/175. Down 2.4 after last weeks little blip so am encouraged. Actually I was down more than that at one point so am hopeful.Would be nice to get down in to the next decade.I actually went swimming this week which is good but not much other exercise. I nned to address this but not sure how. Will swim again tomorrow I hope. Lots of compliments though, people are noticing and that is great.
Well done everyone you are all doing well. Thanks for posting everyone. Its great to chare the highs and lows and to keep accountable.

Great job ladies! Look at all that exercise!! Here’s my weigh-in…
216/203/145 Two pounds lost. Which is fine, but after last weeks 11 pound loss a bit anticlimactic.
I earned 10 points…which isn’t much after all my “talking smack” as Blair would say. I think I overdid it last Monday and hurt my knees. I continued to run on them for a few days, thinking they were sore because I was so out of shape. But they got worse and started hurting all day….so I’m chilling out on the exercise for a bit until they are better.
Comment by Bethany — January 22, 2007 @ 3:32 pm
Okay, I missed last week’s weigh-in, and while I weighed 249 this morning, my cheap and very very very old analog scale has been having big problems (won’t hold a zero anymore - changes away from the zero mark) argh. I zero and stand on it, says 249, get off again and wam, it’s on the 2-3 mark?
But I’ve solved my problem. Yes, ma’am, I have a brand new Tanita scale! I can’t wait to unpack it from the box, but that will have to wait until later today as it’s piano lesson time. But I wanted to make sure I weighed in this week.
I get 8 for exercise too, I think I’m still holding steady on weight - will have to look back a couple of weeks to see if I gained, lost, or stayed even.
Comment by Tracy — January 22, 2007 @ 3:32 pm
174/165/135 — yes that puts me UP 5
you see I still don’t have new scale at home yet — so I am going on a weigh in on the scales at the gym at school last week and they are OBVIOUSLY different than my own….. lol
As far as exercise points I get 4 — all at different times on Saturday…..
Comment by Maria — January 22, 2007 @ 5:41 pm
Hmmmm. I don’t know how to count that, Maria! It doesn’t seem fair to show you as having gained five when I’m sure you haven’t. And Tracy, be prepared. Tanitas seem to weigh five to seven pounds “heavier” than other scales.
Comment by blestwithsons — January 22, 2007 @ 7:07 pm
Ack! I missed yesterday. Well, that only gives me 4 points for the week, I guess. Also, I’m down .5 pounds, so 215/212.5/150 for me!
