Another Monday, Another Weigh In!!
Aren’t you glad that you’re here playin?
We’re getting fit and we are sayin’
Away from junk food we’ll be stayin!
Okay….it’s not my best. But I haven’t finished all of my coffee yet. So how was your week? I know the truth is far, far more than a number on a scale! But I want the number anyway!!! Bring it on, ladies. Let’s have those weigh-ins!
And don’t forget - today you start reporting those Happy Heart points! Now some of us (me!) will be starting out behind the pack because of illness or other technical difficulties, but don’t get discouraged! There’s still plenty of time between now and February 12th to make a strong showing for yourself! And there are more rewards at stake than just the prize for the winner…so Get Moving!!
Wow! I’m first! Okay, here goes…
216/205/145 I lost 11 pounds this week.
Now, lest you think I’m superwoman, I must admit I wasn’t that strict about my diet. I cheated a few times…I had AF visiting at my first weigh-in last week, and I think I’m still shedding some of my pregnancy weight. But I am encouraged. It was easier to turn down the loaded baked potato when I knew I had already lost more than I thought I would in two weeks.
As far as exercise, I didn’t do that well. I have two points for four days. So, this week I earned 8 points. Some of you prolly did that in two days!!

Two weeks without any junk….on to week three.

Way to go, Bethany! And don’t feel bad, ’cause I only got four points this week for exercise. I’ve had this nasty cough since before Christmas and every time I start to breath harder, I go into a coughing fit. So for now, I got in four days of weight training.
My numbers:
210/190.4/160 - down .2 - not much, but at least it’s down.
Comment by Jana — January 15, 2007 @ 7:28 am
Oh? Was I supposed to log water and exercise?
Exercise: 4/7
Water: 7/7
Comment by Bethany — January 15, 2007 @ 7:31 am
Wow–you all are doing great. And a double wow to you, Bethany!
Let’s see here:
I am down .5 this week, so 151/146/132.
For that Heart Healthy Thingy: 6 points, or 3, 30 minute workouts (did I count points correctly?)
For the other points counting thingy:
Water: 7/7
Exercise: 3/7
Scripture Memory: 2/7 (Are we still doing this?)

Hello! It’s my first weigh-in. I’m Bekki, sister of Debs. I’ve been doing South Beach for a week and it’s definitely working. In numbers 200/189.6/160. I had’t weighed myself since Christmas, so I’m not sure how much of that was in the last week. And I got my first SPUNKS this morning. A colleague I hadn’t seen since last month (she works in a different building) asked if I’d lost weight. Most gratifying.
Comment by Bekki — January 15, 2007 @ 7:37 am
HEY!! PWF - I didn’t know you were Debs’ sister!! Cool! And welcome!!!
Comment by blestwithsons — January 15, 2007 @ 7:40 am
Blair, way to go on the exercise!!
And to all others…yay! Everyone is going down!
Comment by Bethany — January 15, 2007 @ 7:52 am
Hee! I think I can claim to have got Debs into blogging, but she got me into losing weight.
Comment by Bekki — January 15, 2007 @ 7:55 am
Blair - you moved this week! Wow!
I am down 1 pound and I have 4 exercise points.
Not great, but a decent start to the new year, I think.
Water was 6/7.
Comment by Carrie K. — January 15, 2007 @ 8:10 am
because i’m away, this is my saturday weigh-in:
144.4/139.8/124. up 0.8 pounds. but my weigh-in last week seemed somehow too low, so i’m actually really happy where i am even though it’s “up.” it’s still in the 130’s, albeit just barely!
HH points: 16.
happy monday to all!

215/195.8/160 Down 6.2 lbs.
0 on the exercise. Doing good on the water though, and I haven’t been cheating for a whole week now! Only 13 lbs to my short term goal for president’s day weekend!
Comment by Kimberly — January 15, 2007 @ 8:43 am
Wow, you all are doing great!
My weight isn’t budging. I’m going have to try something new. It could be that I’ve been building muscle. I don’t have to reduce the resistance on the bike anymore. Yeah!
147/140/130
165 minutes of exercise over 4 days, so I think that is 11 points, right?
Comment by Anita — January 15, 2007 @ 8:49 am
WooHoo!!
212/195/145…that’s down 4 pounds this week.
As for the Healthy Heart Challenge I have 17 pts.
Okay, water…7/7
exercise…5/7

What a great start Bethany!!! I better keep my eye on you lol.
Yes, Jana - down is down!! Woohoo!! I hope you’re feeling better soon ((hugs))
Great job Laura - I’m still tracking my other stuff to keep me accountable.
Welcome Bekki - you’re doing great!
Thank you Carrie - I told you guys it was “on” lol. And yes, I think you’ve had a nice start to the new year - let’s keep that momentum building!
Hey Anne - great attitude about the increase - praying for strength as you travel to stay on your plan! Great exercise week!
Wowzers Kimberly - what a leap! Great job with the water and no cheating!
Anita - great work with the exercise. Muscle is a good thing Do you do measurements? That would help you see if you’re gaining muscle.
Comment by Blair — January 15, 2007 @ 9:11 am
Woohoo Tami!! Great work girl!! We got the same number of HH points!
Comment by Blair — January 15, 2007 @ 9:12 am
212.8/162.8/135
Down 1.6 this week.
I was quite sick, so I didn’t start exercising until this weekend- and then only lightly. 2 points
But I’m feeling better…so it’s on now!!
Comment by blestwithsons — January 15, 2007 @ 9:25 am
I’m so glad you’re feeling better Blest!
Comment by Blair — January 15, 2007 @ 9:32 am
Oh, good grief. I completely forgot to weigh-in this morning!
I’m certain it wouldn’t have been a good weigh-in. We had both our families in this weekend for a belated Christmas get together complete with all the trimmings.
Anyone here taken antidepressants? I’m having a terrible time struggling with adjustment to meds. I’m attempting my second medication but I simply cannot SLEEP while on them! It’s making it difficult to function in day to day activities. Therefore thwarting my weightloss efforts.
But I ordered an elliptical trainer (NordicTrack Autostrider 990) and I simply cannot wait for it to get here!

I’m at 270 (up 1) this week.
Looking back over the last week I don’t think there was a day that I didn’t ‘cheat’, and by Sunday I had got so bad that I just gave up trying. I don’t think I’ve really been doing it right since Christmas. This week I’ve decided I’m going to keep a record of everything I eat. (and since I ate a piece of birthday cake at lunchtime, I know I haven’t made a great start on the week)However, the sugar headache I’ve had all afternoon tells me that I must have made a difference to what my body does and doesn’t like, even if I still need to work on my mind and heart attitude.
So that’s where I’m at - working on my attitude, and hopefully next week’s weighin will reflect that!
Comment by Debs — January 15, 2007 @ 11:56 am
220/195.2/175
Up .6 this week but not too discouraged. Think I have been cheating a bit. At school where Debs and I work there has been a constant stream of goodies in the staff room so it is hard to be good all the time.
However I have been getting lots of compliments about looking good. And have discovered another work colleague who has just started South Beach. I encouraged her to weigh herself to find out her starting point. She was scared to but did after our conversation and said it wasn’t as bad as she feared. I have started to definitely put aside clothes that are now too big. And I have dug out some others that I haven’t been able to get it into for over a year. Its really fun. Debs is hoping she may be able to wear some of my clothes on her way down so to speak so we aren’t getting rid of them at the moment.
Comment by elly — January 15, 2007 @ 2:09 pm
Forgot my points.
I only got 6 this week, but will try better this week (I’ve been outside skipping this evening already, so I’m determined to change my attitude!)
Comment by Debs — January 15, 2007 @ 2:12 pm
Debs -
I’m with you - there wasn’t a day last week I didn’t cheat. Add in a cuople sick kids, a needy friend and a holiday get-together - and my recipe for disaster was complete.
It just gets discouraging - I have so far to go.
I love the encouragement I get from reading everyone’s success though. WTG Ladies!!
Comment by 395231 — January 15, 2007 @ 2:48 pm
Debs - you have a whole group of recruits over there with you! It’s so cool to see your friends joining you. It’s hard to eat healthy all the time; a little cheating is understandable. Just make the general trend more healthy.
Cheering everyone on!

Maria reporting –
My scale is still broken — I was out of town all weekend — eating out and not making good choices — and I didn’t exercist — my team hates me now……
Comment by Maria — January 15, 2007 @ 3:30 pm
Oh, Maria - no one hates you! We’ve all been there - just glad you’re still hanging on. Tomorrow is another day! That’s what I keep telling myself, anyway…

down one this week and getting back to exercise a little at a time.
I have 8 exercise points this week since I have come off the illness.
Comment by Leann — January 15, 2007 @ 8:21 pm
Wow, ya’ll have GREAT weigh-ins!
215/213/150 for me, so down 1.5 pounds for the week.
As for points, I guess marathon nursing doesn’t count? I bet it burned a lot of calories My baby had a growth spurt this week, but I managed to get 8 points.

Hi! It’s natasha25461.
OK. Here’s the weigh in-
126/124/110 so down 2 lbs.
Exercise: 14 points
What are we supposed to do with water?
Comment by natasha25461 — January 16, 2007 @ 4:01 am
Natasha, we were doing a team competition where each day we tried to drink 80oz water and exercise, and also we were memorising bible verses. That aspect of the competition has been put on hold, but some people are still recording their numbers to stay accountable.
Water is really important in weight loss cos it helps the body to flush stuff out, so that’s why we were trying to go for lots of it!
We will probably do that aspect of the competition again after february when our heathy heart competion end, so do start now with those things if you can!
I hope that helps
Comment by Debs — January 16, 2007 @ 5:40 am
I am so sorry that I did not weigh in yesterday. My husband was off of work and Cleveland had pretty much everything free yesterday for the holiday. We took the kids up bright an early to the Great Lakes Science Center, Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame, and the Natural History Museum. I weighed in this morning and almost burst into tears b/c it said that I am up like 3.4 pounds. I think I am retaining water b/c just 2 days ago I was my normal weight (from the last weigh in). I have 4 points to log. My whole family has been sick and are just starting to get back on the mend…..this will be a better week. =O)
Comment by Mandi — January 16, 2007 @ 7:57 am
Hope you feel better soon Mandi,
Don’t give up, it’s just a minor setback.
Comment by Debs — January 16, 2007 @ 7:59 am
Here is my stats:
194/188/145
I’m the same as last week, but I’m happy with that. We had icy roads starting on Saturday through yesterday here in Texas. My husband decided to go buy “fun food!” for the week-end since we weren’t going anywhere. I didn’t do much but stay warm and eat. Yesterday I was ready to eat healthier again, yeah!
I got in 12 points before the ice arrived.
Working on more points this week! The competitive juices are flowing!
Comment by D'Aun — January 16, 2007 @ 12:12 pm
Well done D’Aun, as I’m learning at the moment so much of it is about the attitude you have, and not just the numbers
