This week we have a great prize for the weigh-in drawing. The lovely Tami has offered two bars of her fabulous handmade soap! So weigh-in and maybe you’ll clean up!

  1. Well…rough week! 212/188/145 stayed the same. I went down after being sick but I was also completely dehydrated…then I also ate some stuff I shouldn’t have. Jeff and I have now decided on a zero tolerance policy. I have come to far to slack off now. (Really, before my first pregnancy I weighed 260 so I am thrilled with the 72 pound difference)
    LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

I am down 3 pounds this week! Wooo!! I haven’t weighed this little since before I got pregnant with #3 (that would be over 5 years ago).

  3. I am so excited. I know the first week on a diet is one of the best, but this surpassed my expectations!

    198/193/140

5 pounds! Yeehaw! ‘Course I don’t get to use those 5 pounds towards the contest, but so what?

(Remind me of this weigh in when I hit my first plateau!)

Great commitment to zero tolerance, Tami. You’ve done an inspirational job already!

  4. I’m 200/182.4/160.
Up 0.2lb. Grr. I seem to be a bit stuck. Perhaps it’s just pre-period bloating. A girl can hope. I’m hoping the new competion will get me going again. I’m determined to get into the 170s by March.

  5. I have no change this week: 151/143.5/132

If we get the weather predicted, it will be springish here this week and I can go hiking. Oh, please let it be :)

  7. Tami - Glad you’re getting rehydrated. Sounds like you’ve resolved to keep moving down - great going!

Jana - That’s AWESOME!!! I am loving watching you transform girl!

Missy - how sweet is that! What a great start!

Bekki - we all have weeks like this - keep working hard and the weight will have NO choice but to come off! Pre-period bloating does a number on me too ((hugs)).

Laura - way to maintain girl…hope you get to do some hiking :)

  8. 330/310/150 Ok so I have lost 2 lbs this week. I think I have the formula down, its starting, current, and goal. Correct????

    Comment by Kellie — February 19, 2007 @ 7:37 am

  9. Lady Laura, I hear ya about the spring weather! I’m here in TN and it has been down right cold! Our lakes have been frozen up here on the “mountain”. It is supposed to be in the mid 40’s today and moving into the 60’s. Watch out kids! We’re going jogging!

    Comment by Tami — February 19, 2007 @ 7:38 am

  10. Kellie, you’ve got the formula! Sometimes I change my goal to a short term goal when I’m getting a bit discouraged. Great job on the 2 pounds!

    Comment by Tami — February 19, 2007 @ 7:39 am

  11. As much as I hated taking that picture last night (Blest, I hope you got it) and as much as I hated stepping on the scale this morning, I’m sure glad it’s Monday…a new week, ready to start working towards a healthier lifestyle, so here it goes…
    239.8/239.8/200
I’ve listed 200 as my goal because I want to work with smaller goals. If I put what I’d really like to get down to, that just seems so far away. So, baby steps it is.
    Have a great week everyone!

    Comment by Cristina — February 19, 2007 @ 7:58 am

  12. 333.8/329.4/150

    Gained 6.4?!!?!!??!?!?!!?

I am so so so annoyed! On Friday when I weighed I was done 3 from last Monday. Then on Saturday/Sunday we had dinner engagements out - I’m thinking overboard on carbs, even though I really TRIED to be careful. grrr. This week is going to be witchy - but gotta get it back down again! :)

Looking forward to starting this new competition, and as soon as I submit this comment I’m off to exercise. Good luck (I mean blessings! hee hee) to everyone!!!!

    Comment by Kat — February 19, 2007 @ 8:15 am

  13. 144.4/139.8/124

I’m up 1.0 pounds. But, gosh darn it, I am still in the 130’s - even if I am just by a thread. I think it’s a combination of time of month along with last week being a Really Bad Week. This week’s going to be better!

Bring it, ladies. Bring it. I want to be queen ;-)

    Comment by Anne — February 19, 2007 @ 8:22 am

  14. Tami - glad to hear that you’re feeling better! Now you’re all ready for the competition ;-)

    Jana - great job!

Missy - that’s amazing! Let those 5 pounds be an incentive to keep going :-)

Bekki - you can do it! We know you can. And being up 0.2 is practically the same as maintaining, so don’t be frustrated. You’re just now ready to fight for the crown.

Laura - oh I’m jealous; it’s nowhere near hiking weather here!

Blair - CONGRATS! Welcome to the 100’s ;-)

    Kellie - great job!

Cristina - welcome! Baby steps are great.

Kat - don’t worry. There’s no way you can swing 9 pounds in 3 days… it has to be water weight. I bet those 6 pounds will be gone by tomorrow. Hope your exercising was good!

    Comment by Anne — February 19, 2007 @ 8:29 am

  15. 210/174.8/140 - I stayed the same. I just noticed that I retain water when I ovulate. ????? My feet were really puffy this week and today they are back to normal….but this morning I was really constipated (sorry for the tmi). What is going to be our “extra” category for this week. I’d like to be able to do whatever it is starting today.

    Comment by Mandi — February 19, 2007 @ 8:48 am

  16. Er. Here’s mine….

    216/197/145

Yep. I gained 1.5. :( And I know why. I had a terrible week (I’m so surprised it isn’t more!) It wasn’t Valentines….I said “no” to all that candy. It was a few other incidences. Like not wanting to go grocery shopping so letting the food choices dwindle….I got on the scales one night and realized I had gained four pounds!! So, I decided to toughen up immediately but couldn’t undo all the damage!

So anyway, I’m ready for QOM! I’m ready to lose another big chunk of weight this month. I want a lovely swimsuit with my Amazon gift card but I won’t wear one unless I’m under 170. But I’m determined to get one! So there! :P

Good job to all you ladies who are losing the weight! Blair, I know how awesome it is to get under 200! That’s why I have to straighten up…don’t wanna go back there! But congratulations to you!

Tami, I know you didn’t lose this week, but look how far you’ve come! Lady Laura, you are so close to your goal weight…I’m jealous!! And Jana, Missy and Kelli…woo hoo!

Oh Christy! You have got to find a place near me! We’ll go jogging together and have each other over for healthy meals! I can’t wait! :D (It’s gonna be really sad if you don’t like me! :( :P )

    Comment by Bethany — February 19, 2007 @ 8:48 am

  17. Sorry Cristina, I thought you were Christy. I totally read that wrong!

Kat, I know the feeling. Luckily mine happened earlier in the week and I could work on it! How discouraging! But you sound motivated. I think I’ll join you in working out as soon as I submit!

Anne…I am so jealous! Oh to be in the 130’s!! Of course, that’s lower than my goal weight… but I used to be in the 130’s…when I was 18!

Mandi, great job maintaining! Even if you are having, er…issues? :P

    Comment by Bethany — February 19, 2007 @ 8:54 am

  18. 147/137/130 down 1 pound.

I’m not sure how that lost pound happened. Maybe the all that exercising is catching up with me. *grin*

Way to go ALL of you! Even if there was a gain here and there. You are all working hard. One step at a time is the way to do it!

    Comment by Anita — February 19, 2007 @ 9:03 am

  19. 212.8/154.8/135

    Down 1.4 lbs

Hang in there everyone! Last week’s weigh-in was really, really great - I’ve noticed that a tough one seems to always follow a great one. Don’t give up!!

    Comment by blestwithsons — February 19, 2007 @ 9:33 am

  20. Blest! Look at how close you are getting! Only 20 more pounds!! By the way, you are looking slim and trim in that vest from your mamma

    Comment by Tami — February 19, 2007 @ 10:02 am

  21. Kellie – yep, that’s correct – what a great start to the year. You’re doing awesome – keep it up!

Cristina – I didn’t enjoy taking the pic either…or sending it lol. At least we did it though and now we can work on changing that image! Welcome!

Kat – I understand your frustration ((hugs)). You’ve got a week of damage control ahead of you but you can do it! Eating out typically makes me gain (or stay the same) even when I’m trying to be good.

Anne – I want to be in the 130’s lol. Oh and I want to be Queen too  Thanks for the congrats.

Mandi – ovulation has a similar effect on me, which is totally uncool. I mean, don’t we have enough of an obstacle with the montly AF bloat? Do we have to bloat during ovulation also?

Bethany – You did some great damage control! Way to head toward recovery! You can do this! And yes, I do give you credit for motivating me during that second week of the HHC lol. I don’t think I’ll be wearing a swimsuit for a while ;)

Anita – I just love surprise weight loss lol – I’m sure it’s your workouts though. Keep it up!

Blest – you just keep going down – you’re making it impossible to catch up with you!

    Comment by Blair — February 19, 2007 @ 11:09 am

  22. I’m up 2.6 to 267.4 this week. And it was all to do with carbs. Think I’m gonna write a post about this, but again and again it seems to come down to a battle in my mind, and this last week having lost once I mentally just gave in and gave up.
New week, new decisions. I’ve done ok today with food, so that’s one day down. I’m just gonna take each day as it comes, and fight each battle with a no-tolerance strategy. I’m determined to do well this week.

    Comment by Debs — February 19, 2007 @ 1:50 pm

  23. Debs, I have my mom with me these few weeks visiting from TX. She quit smoking the day she arrived. It has been 2 weeks now and she is doing wonderfully! If she can do that after almost 40 years of smoking - I keep telling myself I can go without carbs. They seem to be as deadly to me as smoking.

    You can do it!

    Comment by missy — February 19, 2007 @ 1:59 pm

  24. Debs, I am so with you on the no tolerance decision. We seem to have the same problem…we loose a battle and then just give up. We must remember that there are many battles during a war. So we’ve had a setback…You’ve already beat todays battle!!!

  25. 264/253.2/130 (250)

Down .4 lbs! second week in a row of a loss… and I’m having cycle trouble again (as usual - every two weeks, bam. 5 days on, 10 days off… getting very very very very very tired of this. and yes, I’m working with the doctor and nutrition stuff trying to get it stopped!)

  28. thank you Tami - it’s getting very very old!

I really want to hit the 240s again next week.

    Comment by Tracy — February 19, 2007 @ 2:51 pm

  29. 220/190.4/175
Up .2 which is nearly staying the same. A bit frustrating as I have been below that 190 in the week. I really want to hit the 180’s and stay there. No exercise to speak of at all this week. I was on half term (I teach)and a bit down in the middle of the week. Eating was ok I think but maybe I need to keep an eye on the portion size.
I keep getting compliments from one particular work colleague which is nice. I keep telling her that I really have slowed down lately. As I said last week since Christmas it has been a slow haul but I know I am getting there.
Wondering how to fulfill the exercise thing. Time is a big issue and the fact that I travel by car mostly and the hours I seem to spend at the computer or at least at a desk doing lesson planning. Does housework count? I really hurt my hip/leg while vacuuming on Saturday, moving the furniture I think, but after prayer on sunday it seems back to normal. Praise God. So no excuse for not exercising. Maybe I should do a little of Debs skipping or jump rope as you seem to call it it just never was a thing i was good at. I really am not sporty and never was. Walking and swimming have been my thing but I don’t do much of either. Keep planning to get the bike out again but there are lots of hills round here and it is definitely up hill to work. Am sounding a bit negative. Debs and I are thinking of finding an exercise video to try so maybe that will be the way to go.
Will stop rambling on now. Well done all you lovely ladies at whatever stage you are. Welcome to the newcomers who are just starting out. Well done everyone for taking the photos. i know it is a big thing for some of you.
    Weigh to go.

  30. Blair - way to go on the 100s!!! that is so awesome. That is one of my big goals, one I keep trying not to think about, but wow!!! To get to write a ONE is so awesome!

    Comment by Tracy — February 19, 2007 @ 2:53 pm

  31. Debs – Hey girl, you sound a bit low…need to talk? J.blair.lane@gmail.com

Missy – huge congrats to your mom!!

Tracy – YEAH, two weeks in a row is awesome!! My cycle was starting to get whacked out and now it’s finally beginning to get back to normal. I know that as the weight comes off your body is going to begin to repair itself and get back on track. Let’s keep this losing trend going! Thank you so much for the congrats – I’m really excited about it.

    Sarah – I’m guessing that’s an up 1? Hope you’re doing alright 

Elly – You can recover that gain this week. Hope you gals find a fun video – I might check out a dance one and glide around the room for a bit lol. So glad you’re hanging out with us.

    Comment by Blair — February 19, 2007 @ 4:10 pm

  32. I’m up this week, too! 215/212/150. That’s up 3 pounds. But I know a lot of it is because my mom was here, so I’m ready to get rid of that and get under 200!

Bethany, LOL! But I agree, we can leave the babies (and the rest of the kids) with the hubbys and go for a jog! By the time I move I know my ankle will be ready for hard exercise again.

And what if you don’t like me??? ;)

    Comment by Christy — February 19, 2007 @ 10:02 pm

  33. And what if you both like each other better than you like me and then by the time I meet you in person you don’t have any room in your life for another live-in-person friend and I’m all left out in the cold and turn to food for comfort and wind up on Giraldo Rivera…

Um. Excuse me. Carry on with what you were doing…

  34. Checkin’ in from vacation.

Doing ok overall…fighting the urger to eat the donuts DH bought for breakfast but it’s not going well. We try to eat little during the day and eat out just once. I finally convinced him to hit the grocery store to pick up real food for snacks/breakfast.

I’m feeling better already after having some grapes - man, sugar really does some terrible things to a body, huh?
