The Numbers Game

marv-mon-weigh-in.jpg

Oh yeah. Numbers baby. Now we know that this journey isn’t all about the numbers…but let’s face it - Numbers play a big part! Number of calories in. Number out! Number of minutes in exercise and what number was that heart rate again? Number of times a day you eat? Number of inches on the waist. BMI, ozs of water, # of squares of what percentage chocolate (Boo!), numbers - numbers - numbers….

And of course~ that friendly number we see on our scales on these bee-yootiful Monday mornings!!!

So REPORT! And remember - we have 16 days until our one year Blogiversary party! Will you meet your short term goal??

  1. I’m up 0.4 (134.4), which I’m ok with, considering I spent the entirety of the last week eating picnic food (or otherwise not good for me stuff) and only got in 1 workout. This week’s numbers goal? To run 4 times (mon/weds/fri/sun) and to workout 2 other times. My blogiversary goal? Under 133. I saw it once last week, so I know it’s possible…

Grr, up 2.4. Entirely due to last week’s chocolate consumption. Why do I do this? it’s like whenever I’m doing well, I then deliberately sabotage myself by eating the wrong things. :-(

Not going to meet my 25th July goal of 160 then. I’ll settle for 165 or less.

Feeling a bit discouraged really. I wanted to be at 160 by the end of June but it’s just not happened. And I’m still around where I was at the beginning of April. At least I’m sort of maintaining. Must try harder. Grr.

  3. 330/304/150 OK so not happy to be up, but after literally exploding toilets(at 4 a.m. mind you) and zero air conditioning in over 100 degree weather for a week, I guess I am not surprised. My goal is to still be under 300 by the anniversary. We’ll see. Have a good Monday everyone!

Down 1.6…yeah! I’m happy, it went down. I’m sure it would have gone down more if it weren’t for those chocolate covered raisins this weekend and I also only worked out 4 days…I re-injured my knee and it’s been bothering me a lot. I go to the Orthopedic Dr this afternoon. I had torn my ACL 5 years ago and 3 weeks ago I fell and injured it and last Thursday I pushed it too hard in a Tone&Sculpt class, so it’s been very aggravated since. I pray that the Dr has something good to say and that it heals SOON!

  7. Stuck at 212! I completely forgot about weighing in last week, since my mom was here all week. But we got 30 boxes unpacked! Yay!

  8. 210/158.8/150

Down 1.6 from last week! If I do that the next two weeks, I’ll be at 155 no problem by the 25th!

  9. 265.2 up 2 grrrr.
Hey, Bekki and I even sound the same in our grrrs!

Yep, so up. Certainly not helped by a weekend of driving lots, so not much exercise and not eating so well. And then spending lots of time in the sun yesterday and not getting enough water.

I’m off tomorrow on a 4 day Christian conference. I’ve been thinking about what foods to take to stay on plan as much as possible. Also planning to factor in lots of exercise - walking and jumping up and down praising God! So hopefully I’ll see an improvement when I get back.

  10. 198/181.5/140 down 1/2 a pound. It’s been slow but the past several weeks have at least been a downward trend. I leave for Texas this week to spend time with family. 3 weeks on the road will be tough, but I am 30 lbs lighter when many of thses peeps saw me last - so I hope to be encouraged.

Some of the changes this week are up and some down, but when I look at the start weight vs. current weight - that is awesome! Blest, are we gonna have a “total weight lost to date” for our anniversary?

  11. 220/177.2/175
Down 1 which is probably better than I deserve as no exercise this week. Its really hard to fit it in. Will be so glad when term is over. I am hopeful about making my goal of 175 by the anniversary. Was actually just below at 174.6 last Friday. Know I have gone up since then but I think that is the lowest I’ve seen and it was exciting. I feel that although I have been up and down a bit lately the general trend is still down.
I wish people would stop telling me I ‘ve lost enough and worry I am losing too much. Are they jealous? Actually that is a serious question. Do any of you get similar comments?
Hang in there girls. We can do it together. Weigh to go.

  12. I get that CONSTANTLY.

But I think a good deal of it is just comparison shock. I mean, I know people who are just as tall as I am if not taller - and even smaller. But they’ve always been that size -but no one worries about them because they’ve always been that size. No one, including me, knows what my “normal” size is.

But both my mom and my mom-in-law, who were a bit worried when they first saw me, got used to it. That and they saw how much I eat!

  13. When I thought about it I realised I haven’t been this slim for ten years. so lots of people at work and at church didn’t know that thinner me. I guess that means they do notice and might feel a bit worried about me. I really don’t think I ‘ve gone too far though and it is ok to lose a bit more.

I’m up 1/2 a pound. Just a temporary setback. I am on track this week, though, and shooting for 3 lbs.

  16. Not weighing in today because we just got back from my high school reunion in Iowa. I’ll check the scales tomorrow, but I’m predicting a no change. The Midwest farmers eat A LOT of meat and potatoes and I’m seriously craving vegetables at the moment. I’m thinking about trying those roasted radishes tomorrow night with a whole bunch of other veggie something.

Glad to hear everyone checking in. I missed you guys the last 4 days. BTW, at my reunion I got a little bit of “wow, you are skinny”. That felt kinda good. ;-)

  17. Hi, y’all. I’m out of town on a visiting family trip. I’ve been in Wisconsin and currently am in Illinois, far from Louisiana/home. We’ll be home in a bit. Currently at my parents. if you think of her, my mom is ill. Had a colonscopy today and she’s losing massive amounts of weight, not the right way to lose and she doesn’t have much more “excess” to lose at this point. Prayers are welcome.

anyway, I’m away from my scale, so this is an “unofficial” weight - on my parents’ scale, I was 249 this morning. No idea how that corresponds to my home scale, so I don’t know if I’m up or down, but I feel pretty good about how the trip is going, eating wise.

  18. I stepped on the scale this morning and it looks like it’s nearly 129. Yeah! I guess all the sweating and water drinking countered the sweets and meat & potatoes.
