Confessions and Revelations

Okay, so I met Hubby for lunch yesterday. We went to Taco Smell. Instead of getting the Nachos Butt Grande, I mean, Bell Grande, I just got the tacos. (Did you know that the NBG has about the most points of anything there?) It came with a drink. So, yes, I took a drink of Pepsi, and you know what? It was just plain too sweet. Was that me saying that? Yes, I really had no desire to drink it. Now if that is not a miracle, I don’t know what is. I’ve always looked at Coke as a treat. Maybe because when we were kids we only got small glasses of it at special times. But now I realize it is nothing special. So I filled my glass up with lemon and water and was on my way.
Now to work on the whole issue of actually being at Taco Smell. That is my next thing to tackle–fast food.
Also, I feel so much better being off the stuff. My kids have been waking me up earlier and earlier. I would have been lying around on the couch all day just a few weeks ago, but now I actually have energy and don’t feel like a slug.
Who knew?

  1. Oh Yay!!!

I know what you mean about Coke being too sweet. I used to drink it all the time, and now I find it revolting. Diet Coke, on the other hand….. I’m a work in progress, that is certain.

But, as I was saying, Yay! Praise God and good for you.

  3. That is SO COOL!!! It is amazing how much better we feel when we start making these changes. I know I did not realize how bad I was really feeling until I started changing things. I am so proud of you!!!!!

I think all of us could benefit from making a list of things we want to change and then start changing them one at a time. Over a year we will have made some HUGE changes if we take it one at a time.

  4. Congratulations! Way to go, girl. It does take one step at a time. I used to drink a ton of soda and eat at McDonalds at least a couple times a week. Now… none of that. It doesn’t even taste good.

  5. Good job! :) I’m supposed to have a playdate with a friend soon and take our kiddos to McD’s and I’m dreading that part of it!
