Weigh in and Pray in (blest)

Good Morning! It’s that time again! Today we’re going to add a little something… Do you weigh-in and come leave it in the comments. Then please take a moment to pray for the person who weighed in before you!

Let’s see how much we’ve shrunk that cow!!

  1. Despite a multi-day funk that I’m still battling (along with all the urges to just eat it away), heel pain in one foot that’s worse after exercising (thinking it might be plantar fasciitis :-( ) and a not-so-great eating day yesterday, I’m down 2 pounds this week to 204. Oh, it’ll be nice to break that 200 barrier again!!

  2. Lorri, I just prayed for you and yeah for 2 pounds! I was diagnosed with plantar fascitis earlier this year (had thought it was just pregnancy related foot pain until it never went away!) LOL That is not fun! Mine has cleared up significantly with exercises that a podiatrist gave me … just stretching my foot out more before getting out of bed or out of the chair. But it would be so frustrating when I would get up and walk and move around a bunch, and then be in major pain. And it’s helped that I have sadly given up fun flip flops for a while … my feet do so much better if I have socks and my good tennis shoes on.((((hugs))))

I’m down 3 this week for a total of 7 gone. That’s probably more than I should be losing per week time because of nursing, but it’s been a weird week around here with sickies and being in a funk, and to be honest, I haven’t felt like eating much.

  3. Hi, ladies!! This is my first weigh-in: 185. Yesterday was the first day in two months that I have not overeaten. I am struggling so much with this but I feel strong today. And it’s all about one day at a time, right?

Prayers on the way up for Stephanie! (I’m a nursing mom, too, btw. However, my little one is 11 months and getting ready to move on to bigger and better sippy cups with whole milk.)

  5. Ooops. Christine and I were commenting at the same time. Praying for you too, Christine. May today be even better than yesterday=)

  6. Well I’m confused. I have not cheated. I’ve eaten lots of veggies, lean meat…very little carbs. NO processed foods… No soda… I’ve drunk water and taken my vitamins. And of the last seven days, I exercised lightly on one, heavily on four, and took two days off.

    I’m up 2.5lbs

What is up with that?!!! I can onlyl hope it’s muscle or water… Sigh. I will admit that I’m not what you would call happy at this moment.

  7. Praying for you BWS! Don’t let one week get to you. Just keep doing what is right and it will pay off in the end. At least a couple of guys that my husband has talked to while loosing weight were getting frustrated the first month or two because they saw NO progress. You’ve had a good 3 weeks! Don’t let this one week get you down.

I also gained back those 2 pounds I lost last week. Little sleep and lots of stress do not make a good dieting environment! When I’m tired I eat to stay awake. I should have taken a nap instead, but I have deadlines to meet. Argh.

  8. I guarantee it is muscle!!! Praying for your mood about all of this. Don’t get discouraged it happens and muscle is a good thing. Your metabolism is getting higher and you will be burning calories more efficiently because of it.

Yeah Lorri and Stephanie!!! Christine, welcome to the weigh-in!!!

    Here are my stats

  10. blest—

I read somewhere that it was recommended to only weigh once a month, not every week as these weight changes can happen due to building muscles and rightly hydrating the body. Seeing a weight gain, which is actually a good sign in some cases, can be too discouraging for some people so they give up. I think it may have been Bob Greene who said it, actually.

I think that’s why we need to remind ourselves that the weight loss is a side-benefit of the greater goal of having a healthier, stronger body.

    {{Hugs}} and prayers for you!

  11. starting weight - 210
    current weight - 194
    goal weight - 140

I lost 3.8 lbs this week. I have not done my measurements officially but I do know I have lost another 2 inches off of my waist. WOO HOO!!

Leann - I prayed that you would offer your body as a living sacrifice to the Lord and that we would all realize we do not lose weight through will power but through God power! If we keep our eyes focused on Him and do this for His glory we will be blessed.

  12. Praying for all of you since I can’t figure out who I’m supposed to be praying for… :) I’m up a pound. Celebrated our anniversary and I couldn’t resist those carbs. Need to drink more water too. Each day is a new day and I will make this one a good one.

  14. I was totally shocked to see 2 more pounds gone this week. I didn’t exercise much at all. My stats are 210/197/160.

    Praying for Andrea…

  15. Jana - praying for you :)

Oh this battle… while I hate comparing what I’m going “through” as war - I just feel my soul warring (sp?) against the flesh.

    333/323.2/150 - down 2.2 this week

Lost 9.8 total —- moving on to Phase 2! *Blest - let me know if my math is off!

Congratulations to all of you for weight lost, or muscle gained - whatever it is.. keep up the fight - we can do it!

  16. Gained 1 pound. Sorry all.

    Comment by Kimberly — August 14, 2006 @ 10:31 am

  17. Okay. Something weird is going on here… I don’t know if it’s prayer, or the fact that I exercised and sweated and went to the potty a lot… Or if I just shouldn’t weigh in so early in the morning. But I felt like God was telling me “Do it again” Really, I did! And so I weighed in again and I’m back to where I was last Monday! No 2.5 extra pounds!! Weird! I’m claiming it, though.

    And I think maybe I’ll get a new scale…mine is uber-cheap. Recommendations?

Praying for you Kimberly!! And don’t apologize to us! Apologize to yourself (and God if you need to 1 John 1:9 remember?) And then Have a NEW day!!! [[[hugs]]]

  18. Yah, Blest!

    I don’t have a scale recommendation… mine is uber-cheap too.

Kimberly–no apologies. As blest said, today is a new day and the start of a new week.

  19. I’m back down 1.2 this week (had gained while on vacation). Finding time to exercise has been really tough this week! I think I’m going to get myself a couple of new videos to help motivate.

  20. Great Work Bethany!

    Here’s how my week looked:

    High/Current/Goal

    256.6 / 209.8 / 135 - down 1.2 lbs this week.

Sorry I’m later than usual getting over here. We started lessons today and it’s been busy around here.

  21. I’m back!

Will do better this week about hanging out here. I am down three lbs. Not really sure why as I KNOW how terrible I ate.

The baby *finally* weaned off for good (small quiet sniffling) so that may have had some thing to do with it.

    Comment by AJ — August 14, 2006 @ 1:27 pm

  22. I’m back from a 2 week vacation and am proud to say that I only gained point4…yes that’s .4 folks. I thought it would have been much more than that…but I guess I was better than I thought! This week I’m plugging away at counting my points and I actually have my husband doing it with me!!! We have decided to keep our tally on a dry-erase board on the fridge and we’ll be helping each other along. I’m so proud of you all and proud to be a part of this! We CAN lose this weight!!

    Comment by Becca — August 14, 2006 @ 1:33 pm

  23. Sorry I haven’t been able to participate the last few times (being gone), but now I am here. so here is the stats.
195/194/155 (the 195 was from when I started 2 weeks ago)

Blest, I am sure you are building muscle. Are your clothes fitting any loser? That is a good indication as well as to how you are doing.

    Comment by RR2Box79 — August 14, 2006 @ 2:32 pm

  24. AJ, I always lost about five pounds right after weaning the babies, too. It is still weight lost and makes you feel better!!! I always loved it when I went down a bra size… :)

    Comment by Leann — August 14, 2006 @ 2:40 pm

  25. Ok, here goes. I just got home from my WW meeting.
    219.6/205.4/60 lost 3.4
I started walking this week too.
I am praying for the whole entire team since I am probably last as usual. May God bless all of us in the next week to make smart choices and become more active. It is only through Him that I (we) can do this the right way!

Great job everybody! I love this!

    Comment by Angie — August 14, 2006 @ 7:01 pm

  26. I am not down any but not up either so that is a good thing I guess. I have been horrible today — enough carbs for 3 days……

    Comment by Maria — August 14, 2006 @ 7:27 pm

  27. 260/252/130(250) - down 3 during my vacation!

    (that’s high/current/goal (short term goal)

Only 2 more lbs to my short term goal and a total of 10 lbs!

I was fairly shocked to get on the scale this morning and see the loss. YEAH.

sorry I wasn’t by earlier, but it’s been a very very busy day with meetings, phone calls to return, mail to do, my sono and everything else.

Praying for the blues, and praying for some happy news for all.

And remember - yesterday is history - and tomorrow is a new day. Here we go. Anchors A-Weigh!
