So, I’ve been struggling to get the water down. I hate water. It makes me gag. I’ve been filling up regular glasses of water and I just look at it…and look at it…and it gets warm and then it tastes even worse. Today, I figured out a way to trick myself. I mean, really, do I have to be so childish as to trick myself? I guess so. I got an old, plastic cup out of the cabinet. You know, those ones that the kids get at a restaurant and absolutely have to bring home. I filled it with water and drank it. It was gone so quickly. And I was still thirsty. So I filled it again. And again! And again!! I had to know how much I got down today. I filled the cup and then poured it into a measuring cup. 10 ounces for each cup. I’m on cup number 8!!! That’s almost double what I normally am able to get down. I’m so excited!!! Sorry, it’s all about the little things for me….
Just thought I’d share in case anyone else is having a hard time getting that water down. You can do it!!!!
LOL–whatever works, Andrea =)
Have you tried squeezing a lemon into your water? That might help too.

I’ve read something similar to that. Every time you walk through the kitchen drink a small, 8 oz. glass of water. In small doses, it’s surprising how much can be drunk. I also tend to drink more if it’s cold out of the fridge.

Did you know that Crystal Light can count as your water intake too? I love the Raspberry Tea, but they have tons of different flavors. They are sugar free, but do have aspartame in them. So if that doesn’t bether you then try it. Also, the carbonated flavored waters count. I love them too, tons to choose from. I learned this in WW. It kinda helps to have a variety of different things so you don’t get so bored with the same ‘ole thing! Just an idea!

I find hiding it in a water bottle helps enormously.

I have found that drinking water in a cup with a straw makes it easier to get down. I also like to add lemon & a little sugar. When I get bored with that, sometimes I’ll add about an inch of applejuice or orange juice to a glass. This especially helped me drink enough water when I was pregnant. I also make lite strawberry or rasberry lemonade half strength, then dillute it in half again when I pour it into my cup with more water. I don’t know if any of these will work for you or are allowed on South Beach, but they help me stay hydrated!
