incentive to eat breakfast

I used to be a breakfast skipper until I learned that your body goes into starvation mode when you begin to skip meals or skimp on calories your body needs. Guess what that does, ladies? It makes our bodies hord fat… you heard me… our bodies hang onto fat and release it less when we skip meals. That makes it harder to lose and might even make you gain. The optimal way to eat is to have about 5 to 6 small meals a day which revs up your metabolism and helps you to burn those fat cells faster. Eating is good for you!!!

If you need a bit of help getting hungry in the morning try exercising before you eat. I get up and drink a big glass of water and head out the door for a long walk. I come back starving!!! Pam Smith says that you should eat within the first hour of waking so get up and do a bit of exercise and then treat your bodies right by feeding them what they need to get started on your day.

Another thing to remember is to eat a protein at each meal and that will help your blood sugar to be more sustained and not drop drastically during the morning. That way, you won’t crave that donut or sugary snack.

So eat breakfast and all your meals throughout the day to keep that fire called metabolism burning more efficiently! You will be thinner for it. :)

  1. Within an hour, huh? I always wondered if there was a suggested time frame. I’m definitely going to work on this. Thanks!
