By weigh of reminder (blest)

I’ve run across some helpful hint posts lately. A lot of the tips are things you probably already know, but it never hurts to be reminded!

The first one has 50 Weight Loss Tips from Chris Pirillo. Who is Chris Pirillo? I haven’t a clue. But he lost weight and you can too! (Oo! Poetry!)

Here are a few quotes:

#10 Identify your exercise. No exercise was created equal. You might like running, so run. You might like jogging, so jog. You might like stationary bikes, so bike stationarily. Find the one that works best for you - that isn’t too much of a chore for you to do regularly throughout the week. Don’t pick a routine that you don’t like - or you won’t want to do it, and you certainly won’t stick with it for long. I also wouldn’t recommend buying into that whole “no pain, no gain” mantra. I’ve lost weight without hurting myself, and you probably can, too.

#25 Ignore Ronald McDonald. You don’t have to eliminate fast food completely, but you should avoid it at all costs. Most of it is nasty, bad stuff anyway - if you’d even go as far as to call it food. If you’re looking for convenience, find a more convenient meal source. Besides, most of what they serve would be considered “food product,” not food. There’s a gigantic difference as far as your body is concerned. Your bloodstream does not have taste buds, need I remind you?

Of course, that’s only two…and as I said, there are fifty! So go read them!

Another one that I just happened upon a few minutes ago is 15 Weight Loss Tips That Work over on My Weigh Of Thinking. I’ll give you just one…

It’s not about eating as little as possible but eating what your body needs. Eating too little may slow down your metabolism. – Amy (lost 35 lbs*.)

So go forth and be tipped!

  3. Ooops, I wasn’t done. That last tip, about eating enough….
when I first started the new lifestyle of eating, I felt like I was eating all the time. Trying to get 5-6 veggies in a day when you aren’t used to it takes some work, I tell ya.
But now, I have noticed over the last week or so, since the biking has become ‘regular’ and I have added light weight training, I am always hungry. Even though I am not loosing weight (only 1/2 lb. last week), I don’t think I am eating enough. Or rather, I’m not eating what I should be. So, that’s my project for this week, to figure out more foods to add to my repetoire.
Glad to have a recipe archive to search through =)
