I’d put off my picture for the QOM contest until the very last minute. I then got my daughter to take the picture for me. She’s gotten a sudden interest in photography and she’s been playing around with my camera a bit (under heavy supervision…I adore my camera!)
She asked, “Would you like the picture taken outside, where the light is better?”
“Uh. No. Someone might see me.” I reply.
“What is this picture for?” Shiloh asks.
“A contest.” I reply
“Ummm…won’t people see it if it’s for a contest?”
“Well, yeah, but only one person. A girl. A friend of mine. That’s it.”
“Oh. Mom? I’m sorry, but I don’t think you’re gonna win the swimsuit contest.”
“You don’t think I could win a contest to for looking best in a swimsuit?” I ask
Shiloh, in an attempt at diplomacy says, “Uh. I think that’s up to you. That’s your opinion!”
I’m in a good mood so I laugh. “It’s a contest to see who loses the most weight, by May!”
“Oh! Okay! Good. I think you can win that!” she says.
“But you don’t think I could win a contest for looking the best in a swimsuit?” I ask again.
I hear her mutter, “I don’t think so…”
“What’s that?” I ask. “I couldn’t hear you.”
“I think that’s your opinion!” she yells as she quickly makes her way out of the house!
Too funny! I fear my sons would probably not be so diplomatic!
