I have never seen anyone quite as overly smiley as Denise Austin. Seriously. Her face might actually be stuck like that!
That was the main thought going through my mind (along with lots of ugh’s and grunts!) while just now doing Denise Austin’s Fat-Burning Dance Mix DVD. It’s a mostly-cardio DVD with 4 dance workouts (”Latin Groove,” “Jazz & Pop,” “Club Funk,” and “Ballet Sculpt”) plus a warm-up and cool-down. While I thought that I was a fairly coordinated person, I learned that I can do Latin and Funk a whole lot easier than Jazz! Yikes… it was funny! The Ballet Sculpt was my least favorite, though. I liked the first half of it, but the second half included some exercises that kind of hurt my back.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this DVD to anyone who likes dancing (and who is ok feeling uncoordinated while trying to figure out the steps!), but I’d recommend not doing the Ballet Sculpt section and instead doing a mini 20 minute Pilates DVD. It was fun! I’ll definitely do it again
