Hi everyone! For my challenge this week I tried out belly dancing. How hard can it be afterall? HA! I thought that I was in relatively good shape until I tried out this 20 minute DVD. After having to keep my arms in the air for the entire 20 minutes (I couldn’t) and sashaying back and forth I worked up a good sweat and had a new appreciation for these women who do this for a living. They are no cream puffs! The downside was I had to explain to my two girls (5 & 8 ) why there was a half naked woman dancing on tv. That was an interesting conversation in other cultures. The other downside was I realized that I am not remotely coordinated - this realization came after I stepped on my veil or tied myself into a knot with it too many times and ditched it off to the side - and just tried to keep up with the moves. The positive side of this was that I realized how much I slump & stomp when I walk. I am resolving to stand up straight (Hey, we all look thinner when we stand up straight!) and not walk like an elephant but more like a gazelle!

It does sound like fun. I might try it one day…..ummm…when NOONE is around! I’m afraid I’m not much of a dancer! Oh, how I wish I was!!!!
