I was looking along our video shelves for an exercise video, but apparently neither I nor my housemates own one. Instead, my eye lighted upon a bunch of musicals. Aha! An idea was born. Treat a musical as if it were an exercise video. Fast forward from dance routine to dance routine and try to copy the steps. So I waited until my housemates were out, closed the curtains and put on Singin’ in the Rain. I had a great time! It’s quite hard trying to copy fast tap routines on sight in bare feet, and much of the time I ended up just dancing around the room, making up my own steps. I didn’t get all the way through. By the pas de deux in the Broadway Rhythm ballet section, I was exhausted. It was good fun though, if a little unpredictable.

What a creative solution to get some exercise! Way to go Bekki.

That’s a great idea! Maybe I’ll try it with Fiddler on the Roof! Or Thoroughly Modern Millie - I can learn the Tapioca!
