Back to School

Our homeschool year started today. It was a little bumpy, but we’ll get through. I can understand why some homeschoolers go all year round, with smaller, more frequent breaks. We are out of the habit! But we’ll get back in, it will just take a couple weeks.

I think this is going to be much better for my weight loss efforts. There is something about having a schedule and being disciplined in one area that helps me be disciplined in other areas. Does that make sense? While our life is more stressful during the school year, I don’t seem to feel the stress as intensely because I already have a schedule and system in place to handle it. We’re eating at more regular times, which helps that overly-hungry-so-I-must-binge-now feeling. And my husband is excited to get back to our three-times-a-week family swim evenings. That’ll help, too! Now if I can just get rid of this PMS and water-weight. Grrrrr……..

  2. Vacation time always seems to be harder for me to stick to my plan than school time. Something about that schedule :-)

  3. Fun isn’t it lol! We started lessons on the 14th and you’re right, it does take about a week or so to readjust. I’ve considered going year-round but I like having the extended summer break (although we do take several long breaks through the year).

Ack PMS! Not fun. I’m expecting my visitor again soon (but hopefully not a week early like last time). May your visitor leave soon and take her baggage along with her!
