Ladies (and Bird),
I apologize that I have been MIA recently…. there has been a lot going on here in the Midwest and in my life. A few exciting things to note:
- I officially weighed 134.0 this morning — which is 10.4 pounds down! I have been through the wringer and back over the last year, stress-wise, and to be 10.4 pounds down and not up is a testament to God’s grace and all of your support and encouragement — THANK YOU!!
- I did 2.0 miles yesterday in 25 minutes and 34 seconds — that’s 1.75 miles of running and 0.25 of walking. This is possibly some of the farthest that I’ve ever run. Learning to do something that I’ve always told myself that I “couldn’t” do, and beginning to conquer it is an amazing, empowering thing and is all of God. If there’s something in your life that you’ve always said that you can’t do, I challenge you to engage God in conversation and try it out! I think I might actually be ready in time for the 5k at the end July
- I wore shorts last night, on a “date,” and was confident in them! Not a SPUNK per se, but close enough for me!
On top of all that, I am currently planning a cross-country move (my first “grown-up” move with real movers instead of me, my dad and a U-haul) while also trying to spend the next 9-10 weeks living life to the full here in Chicago spending time with friends, seeing all the nooks and crannies of the city, and oh… also trying to get as much research done as is humanly possible since the lab set-up on the other end in California may leave me with some down time.
So, I promise that I am here. And I’ll continue to comment when I have a free moment. But I may be fairly MIA with regards to posting until mid-September when I am settled and in Cali. If someone wants to take up the weekly (ish) exercise check-in postings, I would love that — I don’t want to see that dropped with my absence — because I know that it’s been the exercise that has kept me sane the last few months.
Ooooh A DATE!! Oooooh!
Moving to Cali, eh? I don’t suppose you’ll pass anywhere near here… Sigh.

Sounds busy busy busy. We’ll love hearing from you when you are around, and think about you when you’re not. Have fun!

Anne, WOW! You are winning the bull-fight it seems, but it doesn’t make the fight any easier! I hope the cross-country move is as incredible for you as mine has been for me. I hear Cali is great place to run
I would love to jump in and post weekly for the C25K for a time, if that’s okay? I am hoping it will keep me as motivated as it did you, and I need a focus to post on more frequently here. I don’t think my progress will be as motivational as yours, but who knows?
I hope we hear from you more than not. You are an incredible encourager. I’ll be praying for your journey, sister!
