On Friday I got up and found I’d lost two pounds after being stuck in one spot for a while.
On Saturday I got up and finished a 5K without re-spraining my ankle.
But over the weekend an old problem reared its head in my life again. Instead of responding with prayer and trust in God’s sovereignty, I responded by eating ice cream. The ice cream solution is as effective as ever — which is to say not at all.
So this is just me checking in, to say (a) God is in charge and I am not, and (b) He is bigger than this trial, and (c) I am getting back on track with food today. I am feeling a little discouraged, though.
CJ — it’s only Wednesday, which means that you’ve only been “tailspinning” for 3-4 days. How long would the “old” you have let yourself spin before making a change? Probably a lot longer — so be proud of yourself and praising God that you are back on track now instead of 3-4 weeks from now — congrats!!

CJ, well done - you’ve recognised where things were going wrong and tried to change them. God is in control, and you can do this. Forget about the weekend, it’s gone and you can’t change it. Just say it’s a new day, and things are gonna go well. And of course we’re all thinking and praying for you and sending loads of big hugs
