Thwarted! (Lady Laura)

I had a quick and early dinner tonight as I had a couple errands to run before bible study group. Uh, that was at about 5:10p.

On the way home from group at shortly after 9:00, I was hungry.  I knew I was going to eat something, lest I perished, so I started running through the list of healthful choices. I settled my mind on some Wasa and a slice of cheese, light and tasty. Then from yonder car window broke the smell of BBQ perfection.

That pretty much made some Wasa and cheese seem like punishment so my mind began to wonder to something hot and tasty and fast. A poached egg? No. Some leftover Silver Dollar Fries? Hmmm, maybe. Oh wait, the rest of Nick’s pepperoni pizza. That’s what I wanted! Just thinking about it made me happy.

I skipped upstairs and threw open the fridge in anticipation of its spicy perfection and warm cheesiness. There was no pizza to be found. The child of my womb had had himself a wee snack while I was seeking to grow in godliness at bible study and ate me out of my yumminess. Such treachery.

I had some stinking Wasa and a slice of cheese instead. It wasn’t what I had wanted, but it served it’s purpose.

Maybe tomorrow I will be happy about how it all turned out. Maybe.

  1. Isn’t it funny how smells can get you into temptation? Even after almost a year of “behaving” fast food STILL smells good. Grrr.

Yay for Nick for saving you from yourself!!

  4. Yes, I am thankful that Nick saved me from myself. And since he finished off the pizza, the temptation is gone from the house!
