Guess what I'm about to do? (Debs)

Make a big double batch of triple chocolate brownies.

However,  I’m not gonna eat a single one. Just had to get that one out there before Blest or anyone else hit me. In short, there’s a family at my church who are raising money for their daughter who is off to Africa (can’t remember which bit!) for three weeks and needed to raise the money to fund the trip. Last Saturday we had an auction of skills and things to help towards the fund. I offered an evening of babysitting and a batch of chocolate brownies. As there were two people that were bidding for the brownies at the end I’ve agreed to make each a batch for each of them. I get to do one of my favourite things, but I don’t have to feel obliged to eat any because they’re for someone else. Sounds like a plan to me

  1. I’ll be impressed if you can report back that you didn’t even lick a spoon…. ;-)

  3. I’ve just them in the oven. And to be honest, I didn’t lick the spoon. Now the reason for that is
    a) I wanted to be able to tell you I hadn’t
    and
    b) the funny weather we’re having (quite muggy) has given me a headache, and when I have a headache I know that sugar would just make it worse, and I didn’t want to make it worse!

Instead I had fun dancing and jumping round the kitchen listening the the radio. Doing that makes even the washing up fun!

  4. Oh, and talking of washing up, I’ve found that having a big bowl of hot soapy water ready means you can dump stuff in it straight away and that takes away the temptation. After all, who wants a mouthful of washing up water?!

  5. Wow Debs! You have so much more self control than I do. What a great accomplishment!

  6. I’ve still gotta get over the ‘cutting it up’ hurdle, and you can’t really use the throw it in the water get out for that one!
