Counting a Day

This week’s QOM challenge:

Journal your food for at least one day! And share it with the rest of us, of course.  Preferably with calorie count - which you can get at sites like Fitday or the aptly namedCalorie Count.

  6. Yer not wasting any time, Bird! I’m assuming the stir fry was homemade? And you counted your cashews, yes?

You’re lucky you like cheese and eggs. I don’t like either. The first two weeks was SO hard for me. Oh - and I love tomatoes too! My grandaddy was a farmer. I used to eat fresh tomatoes like apples. Yum!

  7. Breakfast: 1 cup People Chow (as my hubby calls my Kashi High Protein & High Fiber Cereal) with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a drop of maple and 1 cup skim milk

    Snack: string cheese

Lunch: Tuscany Lentil Soup and 1/2 cup of whole strawberries

    Snack: Lemon/Parm Asparagus

    Dinner: Sesame Marinated Flank Steak
1/2 cup whole grain wild rice, 2 cups steamed broccoli with a little lowfat cheddar cheese

    Treat: 1 piece dark chocolate

    Calories: 1408

Usually I would do a tofu substitution, but tonight is “Meat Night” - a twice weekly event! And oh, what a great night it is, yum. :P

Also, I HAVE to measure my food. I love healthy food and typically make good choices, but I just cannot get it in my mind what the right serving size is. Too many years of Mom making my plate and forcing me to eat all of it, I guess.
