The Eagle-ette Has Landed (Brandi)

I am so excited to be an official member of the coolest weight-loss site on the planet! My name is Brandi and I live in beautiful Waco, TX with my wonderful husband, Bird and my 3 adorable children Nathan-7, Daniel-6, and Abigail-3. I have been a committed Christian since the age of 14 and love growing closer and closer to the Lord. He truly is my all in all and I love Him!

I (mostly) stay at home and homeschool my children and LOVE it. I say “mostly” because a few hours a week I work as a behavior therapist with children with Autism utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Besides God and my family, Autism is my greatest interest. I have been working with children with Autism for over 14 years and find it truly intriguing and rewarding. And to make it a bit more personal, we realized about a year or so ago that our oldest son, Nathan, has Asperger Syndrome which has a lot of characteristics in common with high-functioning Autism. So that puts a whole new spin on things! Thankfully, with God’s help and direction, we are seeing improvement in Nathan little by little.

I have tried almost every diet out there at one time or another and am currently doing South Beach with my dear hubby. I really like it a lot (especially how much healthier I am eating…and I already thought I was a healthy eater!) and am looking forward to getting to my pre-pregnancy size for the first time in 8 years!

the verdict is still out on my youngest, who has global delays, esp. in communication skills. The dx so far is PDD, but not PDD-NOS. we’ll be figuring more out with that this summer, we hope. ONe day at a time!

but I’m glad to see another “expert” out there :-)
