So, Jeff and I decided to join a local gym. It costs us $56 a month (total) and we debated over it for a LONG time. I’ve talked about it since last November. It seems like a splurge to me but I reason it with the facts that we have an air card through his work that costs us like $15 a month (computer), no cable or satelite, no home phone, his cell is free (he manages for Sprint) and my cell costs $15 a month so we figured we could throw some moola in the direction of the gym. I’ve lost a total now of 77# and walking/jogging and doing different dvd’s just doesn’t seem to be cutting it for me anymore. I need to kick it up many notches and start getting some major definition not to mention work on my muscles. Anyhootems…I tend to get off track.
Man does it feel so good to be there! Jeff thinks I’m addicted. He just told me this evening that I’ve become a workout junkie! Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I’ve got to tell you I LOVE working with weights. I totally feel a difference in my different muscles groups…don’t get me wrong. I did some of my videos with small weights and sometimes walked while doing bicep curls but the gym weights are so different!!
Blest, I feel for ya (wo)man! I can only imagine how fidgety you must be right now. Anyhoots, this post is for no specific reason but merely to check in I guess. Mix up your workouts peoples!…you’ll feel good.
:-)
You go, girl.

Do I sound like a chick or what? “You go, girl”?
:-( Too much estrogen going around here.

Bird. Chick. Same diff.
Maybe we should call you Blo…cause Blo is a …never mind.
Tami! That sounds so great! I love gym machines. They’re building a new gym about a mile and a half from my house! I can’t wait for it to be done. Just think….brand new and close by! Woo hoo!

Oh, and Tami, we are having the same debates about joining the gym around here. I don’t necessarily consider it a splurge, just don’t know if I want to fork the money out yet….so I understand.
Cool on all that weight loss! Like Bird said, You go girl!

Tami - you’re doing fabulous! I think it’s great that you’ve joined a gym. The hubby has recently joined one so he can workout during lunch. I personally like to workout at home. I don’t know if I was scared off by the military gyms where it was mostly guys (who didn’t mind blatantly staring at you or hitting on you while you worked out). Then I joined a women’s gym several years ago, fractured my foot, got pregnant (high risk) and then paid over 1K bucks for a membership that expired before I got to use it lol. So, I guess I’m a bit turned off of gyms for now. Do you and your husband get to go together? I loved that long ago when Erik and I finally got stationed together - going with him was fun.
I do have an awesome treadmill and weight bench/weights set in storage back in TX - boy do I miss them. Hopefully sometime in the next year I’ll have access to them again…only God knows.
