C25K: Week 7! (Anne)

It’s another “building” week — we’re up to 15 minutes (out of 30) running! Get excited :grin:endorphins for everyone! It’ll be over one mile! Please remember, too, that you definitely don’t have to do all the running at once. You could do one minute on, one minute off for 30 minutes to add up to the 15. Or whatever works for you.

As for me, I’ll be out of town this week and thus will have to run outside where there are hills instead of inside on the treadmill or outside here where it is FLAT. I know that it will be rough, but worth it!

How’s everyone else? Blair, did you add a 6th minute of running this week? Missy, how’s it feel to be moving into your seventh week exercising? Do you feel good? Char, how did starting things this week go? Tami, how’s the 5 mile-distance? Is it true that once you get past a certain distance, it doesn’t seem impossible any more? Anita, what’d you do this week? Did you decide to sign up for the 5k run/walk in July? Blest, how’s our podling doing? How’re your knees? Leann, how’re the hills around your house treating you? ;-)Bekki, how’re the exercise endorphins? Are you hooked yet? Brandi and Bird, how was your week? Did you exercise? Bird, especially you — did you at least get a couple HH points this week? (I know we’re not counting officially, but it’s a good benchmark… and a little bit of gentle teasing ;-) ) Debs, did you exercise more this week (you said in last week’s WI post that you wanted to…)? Bethany, are you still running? Anyone else want to weigh-in (haha) on how their exercise went this past week?

Happy Sunday!

  1. Way to keep us accountable, Anne! I think I did do some more exercise this week, or at least increased the amount of walking I did (4 hours walking round ikea, for a start!)
I want to keep that goal for this week too :-)

  3. I started the first week of Phase II or the accumulative of week 5. So that was 29 minutes of walking and 2 minutes of running. I did 2 of the 3 days on the treadmill and my hip did great! But the third day I did on the street because I just didn’t want to drive to the club for only a 30 minute workout. That was a little hard and a little painful on the hip. And, since I have been riding the bike all winter, I didn’t want to stop that. So I also road the bicycle on the 2 days in between the walking. We’ll see how the running goes. I may have to continue on the treadmill for awhile before running on the street again.

Nope, haven’t signed up for any 5k’s yet. But the deadline in my sister-in-law’s town is in June. So I can decide on that later.

  4. My knees hurt, thanks for asking! I’ve had to take a few days off…again. My bike is D-E-A-D dead. I’m just proud that I apparently rode it into oblivion.  But that leaves me with just treadmill - which is harder on the knees.

But other than that, I’m doing well!

  5. Thanks for asking, Anne! Guess what? I found myself making plans AROUND my workout schedule this week instead of just trying to fit it in whenever!

Okay, I know that sounds stupid - but I have NEVER done that. When my time budget gets tight, exercise has always been the first to go.

I am now doing 45 minutes at Curves 3 days/walking 3 days a week and this week I will add a toning workout, thanks to .

    Let’s see if I linked correctly \c:

  8. Brandi and Bird, how was your week? Did you exercise? Bird, especially you — did you at least get a couple HH points this week?

I can neither confirm nor deny whether or not I earned any HH points this week. ;-)

Brandi says: “Thanks for asking. I exercised three times this week totaling six points. Exercise has gotten easier with losing weight!”

  9. I’m still enjoying my new cycle route and trying to think of more ways to get more exercise in. My goal this week is to go swimming before work once, probably Wednesday or Thursday.

  10. Hey maybe I should try that fitting everything else round the exercise schedule.
It might work but there isn’t a lot of slack in the system so it sure will take some commitment. Good idea though Missy.

  11. Anne, I love your posts on the C25K and I love hearing about everyone’s progress!

I have aweful knees and ankles but maybe after I get down below 200 I might attempt to try this out. I usually do the elliptical and bike for cardio but I’ve recently introduced the treadmill again, so I’m ramping up on my walking. :)

  12. Nope. I’m a bad girl. I haven’t been running. I’m gonna start back next Monday! Promise! :D

  13. Anne, where are you? :D

I ran a mile this week! Okay, not all at once, I broke it up, but still it was a mile of running in each session!
