Hmm, guess I'm with Leann . . . (Blair)

because I can’t seem to comment either.  Leann, if you’ve figured out what the deal is, let me know lol.  Feeling a bit “bannished” at the moment…

Anne, I’ve tried to reply several times to the C25K post but nothing is taking…here’s one version of what I tried to say :)

“Ok - I posted a big ole’ long comment to this and it’s gone…hmmm.

Anyway.  I broke the 15 minute mile last Friday and I was thrilled with that since I don’t move as fast as I once did.  I’m up to 5 minutes running (at least 6.0 mph) - of course this isn’t five minutes lumped together - I split it up over the 30 minutes.  I’m hoping to add a sixth minute by the end of this week.  I know I’m behind you gals but I’m moving at a pace that my ankles and knees are more comfortable with :) ”

Now that I think about it - my weigh in probably didn’t take either.  I was up 3.8 thanks to an early visit from the bloat fairy and being very ill (swollen glands and kidney stones).  I’m feeling much better overall - praise the Lord!  I also had 12 points.

  1. Weird! Do you guys have anything computerish in common? I don’t know what this is about. I’ll ask my brother…

  2. There. I’ve emailed my brother. I know he has a deacon’s meeting tonight - so hopefully we’ll hear from him tomorrow.

  3. Ah Ha! I found two of your comments in the akismet spam catcher! I unspammed them. That is supposed to tell the filter to let you through from now on- though it never did work for Laura on my other site.

Leann - if you see this - comment again. The spam has already been deleted from yesterday so I can’t find anything from you to de-spam it.

Needless to say, if this doesn’t work, I guess my next step is to email Wordpress…?

  4. So sorry about those kidney stones, they are murder. Awesome job on the mile.

  5. Let me know how the ‘unspamming’ worked.

I would think that members wouldn’t be spam-checked by Akismet, but I’ve never used WP for a multi-user site, so…

I’ll be investigating settings on my own blog to see if I see any clues.

  6. Blair —

Five minutes!! That’s great. My running right now is actually at a nice, slow, plodding 5.0mph pace. I sometimes feel my body asking to go faster, so I will, but when pushing for a longer distance, I’m just trying to get through it, especially on the 3rd workout of each week when I try to do it all at once. Again, I’m like you — I’m just sticking with what my knees/ankles/hips/body is “happy” with as I’m pushing it farther and farther each week. I recognize that the 12-minute mile I’m doing is much more of a jog than a run, but hey, I’ll take it! I was trying to build up both my distance and my speed at the same time, but my body said “no.” Thus I chose distance. We’ll see how I do when week 8 comes around as a “rest” week. I feel like that’s a chance to attempt to build speed.

I know this is long-winded, but I wanted to say that I am really proud of you!! You’re doing great. We’re all moving at our own pace, and at that matters is that we’re moving. (I meant that in the “moving down the path towards a healthier lifestyle” way of moving… but I guess I also mean it in the “exercise” definition of moving, haha!)

    Keep it up!!

  7. Ok - let’s see if I can comment now lol.

Thanks Kellie - I passed six small ones last week (that I know about) and I’m feeling so much better in that department now.

Anne - I think your pace is awesome girl!! a 12 minute mile rocks - I haven’t gotten there yet but I’m looking forward to it. Jogging is good. I was a “runner” for years and so I think it’s just instinctive for me to push really hard when I hit the running minutes. That’s not always a good thing of course lol. We all have to go at our own pace and cheer each other on in the process. It feels good to be running.

Well, Blest and SCPanther - I guess we’ll see if this thing works…right…about…now
