Well, Alrighty Then!! (Blest)

Starting TOMORROW!!  We’re on Happy Heart rules once again!

For those who are more recent to the site, lemme tell ya how it works.  You earn 1 point for every 15 minutes of good sweaty exercise.  Lifting the remote, getting a little excited while watching Lost, or walking back and forth to the bathroom because you’re drinking your water…these are activities that do not count!  Nope, we’re talking HEART PUMPING exercise here, people!  You may earn up to 4 points a day.  Most points wins.  Points may be earned from tomorrow through Sunday, May 13th.  (so the highest possible total is 36)

Most Points Wins.

Tie broken by most weight lost between Monday, May 7th and Monday, May 14th.  So…. the way this works is, you must weigh-in this Monday (or course!) and you must weigh in the following Monday and give your points.  Prize will be a piece of my hand-crafted jewelry yet to be determined. (but it will be cool) This contest is open to all OWOA Members.  Bird, if you win you can give the prize to Brandi!

  2. I get really excited while watching Lost. Can I at least have half a point for that?

  3. Blest - I think it is totally funny that you mentioned Lost! I agree that you can get pretty fired up watching Lost (especially now since we are gearing up for the finale). I like that we can get a point for increments of 15 minutes. Last time we did this challenge it was about 40 below here and I didn’t have a gym membership - now it is warm and I have a gym membership so I’m going to be working hard for this!!

  4. I’m excited because during the last Happy Heart, I was an exercise newbie! Now, I know I can do an hour of exercise in a day! I’ve been doing that some days! Heck, I’ve done two hours in a day!

    Yay!!

  5. […] Happy May Weigh Day!! (I love the beginning of every month…there’s a reason, but I’ll spare you!)  Did you notice that we are back on Happy Heart this week?! Huh? Didja?  If you’re just finding out today, don’t worry.  As we found out last time, there’s not telling how your competitors will do or what obstacles may arise. So don’t waste a day!  Get your shoes on and start moving!! […]

  6. Say, Blest, do you have guidelines about what counts? If I work up a sweat cleaning the house, can I count those 15 minutes? Or does it need to be something that Jane Fonda would recognize as exercise?

  7. For the purposes of the competition, it’s fifteen minutes of deliberate exercise. You know, intense walking, running, dancing, biking, swimming, tae bo, aerobics…that kinda stuff. But I know what you mean - I have to mop today and that OUGHT to be worth points.

  8. Blest… weird calling you that… I want to be a part of the OWOA “team” and read that I need to participate, post comments and generally show myself approved before being invited, so I am going to try the challenge even though I am not a part of the group (yet!). I have been doing all right with eating, but finding the time to put excercise at the top of my priority list has been a challenge (hence the 2:43 am posting). Do you have any advice that is not get up earlier? Char

  9. Bummer about the mopping. I was glistening up a storm! I was going to ask about high-speed knitting too, but I guess I know the answer. ;-) Unfortunately I have run out of my beta blocker, which means high-speed knitting is as aerobic as I can manage for now. Dangit.
