Image, Part . . . what part is this anyway? (Jana)

I know, it’s been a while.  Things just get nuts around here sometimes!  So, let’s move on to the V-frame, shall we?

V-frame people tend to have wider shoulders than hips.  V-frame women in general are large-busted (think Dolly Parton or Pamela Anderson).  I bet you can already guess what the recommendations are for this body type:

  • Avoid shoulder pads, puffy sleeves, or anything similar.
  • Choose pants with pleats and skirts that flare out at the waist.
  • Avoid patterns on your tops, and choose patterned skirts and pants instead of plain ones.
  • Wrap a scarf around your waist to widen the hip area.
  • Sleeveless tops, tank tops and spaghetti straps work well for this body type.
  • A jacket worn over an outfit can also hide the fact that your hips are narrower than your shoulders.
  • Never wear long, dangly necklaces - these will only draw attention to your bustline.
  • Avoid vests - these will make your waist look even smaller than it is.

Remember, the key is to create the illusion of equal proportions top to bottom.

That’s all I can think of right now.  If you are a V-frame and have any tips for what works and doesn’t work for you, please share!

  1. Can you be one shape when you’re overweight and another when you are not?

  2. Missy - no, I don’t think so. I will address this in the next post.
