May Weigh!

Perseverance is failing nineteen times and succeeding the twentieth. ~ Julie Andrews

Happy May Weigh Day!! (I love the beginning of every month…there’s a reason, but I’ll spare you!) Did you notice that we are back on Happy Heart this week?! Huh? Didja? If you’re just finding out today, don’t worry. As we found out last time, there’s not telling how your competitors will do or what obstacles may arise. So don’t waste a day! Get your shoes on and start moving!!

But first….Weigh In!!

Down 1.8 this week! Being quasi sugar/(bad)carb free feels good! I decided to add 1-2 squares of dark chocolate into the mix this week. Other than that, I’m sticking to how I ate last week. (With the exception, of course, of tomorrow and going to a major league baseball game where I will consume 1 hot dog ;-) )

My clothes are continuing to fit better and better even as I’ve been hovering around the 136 mark for a while… exercise is definitely, definitely paying off!

down 2 I believe. It’s been a good week…except for 2 sick babies and a violently sick mummy on Sat. night but I feel much like myself again. Off to the gym!

  4. Last week was some kind of a fluke. I had a weird feeling last week when I weighed in and I had dropped 5 pounds. Anyway, here’s my deal for this week:

    231.5/203/160

I dropped a half pound, which I’m VERY excited about. You see, I spent most of the week just trying to get back down to my weigh in weight from last week. I must have been dehydrated or something. :-(

I’m happy with my loss though because I’ve dropped a total of 28.5 pounds! I’ve lost 3, maybe 3.5, inches! And the past two weeks I’ve lost a legit 5.5 pounds!

    :-)

    Up 2.4

I’m sure some of this is because I didn’t eat very good this weekend but I’m hoping that most of this is due to water retention. Gotta work hard and stay focused this week!

  10. You don’t have to say your points. Though if you have a good number you can always post them to intimidate the competition. I just need the weigh-ins for now - and then the points next Monday.

  11. 220/183.6/175
Down .8 (well its nearly a pound!)
Seems slow but I know I have not done any exercise. got to get back into doing something so this week’s challenge should help.
So far today have been for a gentle walk with other church members (its the May Day hoiday). It was fairly gentle due to younger members of party needing a slowish pace. Guess it might count for somthing though. At least it was out and walking which is more than I have managed lately.
Am lacking motivation about life in general at the moment. The chest infection I had and am still not properly recovered from seems to have knocked the stuffing out of me. I am still catching up with myself at work. This site is a real blessing as I think I would be tempted to give up on the diet and settle for where I am. Some well meaning people, like my mum, say isn’t that enough, you are fading away etc but I know that I have a bit more to go and am not just being silly and aiming for super slim. Definitely need to get in some good habits of exercise so the weight won’t just go back on.
Ok stop rambling. Well done all and keep going. We can do it together.

  13. Hi, my name is Leann! Alright… don’t faint!!! I am actually getting back in the weigh-in. I have been holding since about January with no exercise and very little paying attention to much food other than sugar. There is a really good reason and those who know me know I am in culinary school with late nights in the kitchen at school. I finished my finals up last Thursday at 11:15pm and made a plan to get some sleep over the weekend and then start fresh today. So, I did! I still have 12 pounds to lose and maybe five more after that if I feel like I need to. Here is my schtuff…

    163/152/140ish

I walked about 3 miles this morning and did it in 55 minutes with walking directly into the wind for almost half that time. The wind in El Paso is FEROCIOUS right now. I will try to get five more minutes in at some point today for a total of FOUR POINTS!!! ;) The goal is an hour a day all this week to get me ready to start running again soon. I miss the running time… I am nuts, I know! LOL Does lifting weights count??? - cause it is EXCELLENT for the heart ya know… lowers blood pressure and decreases heart disease and all.

Anyway, I am back… at least for a bit until school takes over again. I am in summer school but it is not as tedious. I hope that won’t happen until the fall semester begins in August.

  14. 198/182/140 Down 1 lb. and so excited to be going down again! I think I was stuck for almost 4 weeks. Right now my weight is the lowest it has been in 11 years when I was 4 months pregnant with my first child. It’s like I am going back in time, heh-heh! Next will be pre-baby weight, then pre-marriage weight, then pre-college weight…

  24. 210/168.6/135 - No change for me in the scales this week….HOWEVER my measurements show big losses. I have been weight training like a madperson these past few weeks and have been really seeing improvements. I lost almost 2 inches off my thighs this week alone. My personal trainer husband has me in a building muscle phase right now (lots of protein, hard workouts, and supplements I can’t even pronounce)— I’m definitely building muscle as I’m starting to see muscles I didn’t even know I had!

  29. Hello to all [waves shyly] and congrats to Blest. I have been lurking here for a long time and have finally decided to stop lurking and get this extra poundage off my behind. I’d like to weigh ~13 lbs less than I did this morning. Ever since my fourth son was born and I turned 35, my metabolism is not what it used to be. :-P

up 3.6lb. Oops! I went away for a long weekend hill-walking in Wales with friends, only back last night, hence I’m weighing in on Tuesday morning. Had a fantastic time, got lots of exercise, but also ate lots of food. On the good side, some of the scrambling/climbing we did I wouldn’t have been able to do carrying the weight I had at the beginning of the year. It also made me realise how unfit I am (I’m still feeling my muscles and walking rather gingerly) and gave me an incentive to get fitter - the next time I go hill-walking, I don’t want to be the one at the back and I do want to be able to walk afterwards!

    Well done everybody. Welcome CJ!

Oh good grief. I feel like George Jetson,”Jane, stop this crazy thing!!!!!!!!!!!”

I have so many things to share with you all. I just don’t have time right now. My children are testing this week and that just adds so much time to my day. 2 of the younger ones have to have my right by them. And they have to test at different times. Also we have the Wednesday night meal at church tonight. And, I went down to the airport with my friend to pick up a girl from chruch last night. Her plane was late so we didn’t get back until 1:30am. Like I said it’s a roller coaster ride baby!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless you all this week!!!!!!

  40. CJ, I know what you mean about the changes taking place at 35. That is when it started for me but it is possible to lose it and feel great. I have made some changes over the past 5 years and am feeling better all the time. I am 40, btw… OH, and welcome aboard!!!

    Comment by Leann — May 10, 2007 @ 9:30 am |Edit This

  41. Blest - No not natural peanut butter… do you think I am Roshelle? Weight Watchers does take into consideration nursing now so yeah I am eating enough calories.

    Comment by Charlotte Cushman — May 10, 2007 @ 8:06 pm |Edit This

  42. No no no… if it were Roshelle it would be all-organic peanut-free peanut butter that was hand ground by virgins.

This stuff is just sugar free. It’s quite good actually!
